EQ2 remade?Follow

#1 Jun 26 2007 at 11:39 AM Rating: Decent
I heard from a friend that they completely did EQ2 since I played. I played for a few weeks about 3 months after EQ2 came out, and it really was not a good game back then.

However, like I said, I heard they completely redid EQ2 and its an awesome game now.

Would anyone mind describing or summarizing how they redid it please?

Thanks

They've done a lot of work and it's a better game. To summarize, um...

I can't.

Let's see.. LU 13 was a biggie. GU 24 was too.

Miniscule experience dept FTW!!!

When Eq2 first came out, I hated to group because everyone was learning the game and didn't really know what they could get away with. Consequently, I would log off with 138% group debt for the night (or something like that). That didn't bode well for the casual player. The only issue is that now they have reduced it so much that there is almost Zero penalty, besides a repair bill. And even the repair bill is tiny, unless you have fabled, raid gear. Then it gets a bit pricey.

Crafting is simplified and there are no more sub-combines. Just harvest, buy the fuel, and make whatever you want depending on your level.

Vitality bonus. Not sure when they implemented this but you basically get 100% exp bonus until this meter runs out. It gets replenished at a rate of .5% an hour or something like that. This vitality bonus encouraged players to start alts!

As Calthine mentioned, the game has improved tremendously and there are really way too many things to write down....

Yes it is a totally different game now to what it was when it was first released, and not just because people know it better.

There have been a lot of changes made, and best of all SOE are listening to the players so the updates are brining in things people actually want.

The game is just a lot more user friendly these days than in the past.
It seems like they have fixed a lot of the bugs from before, added a ton of new content, changed and added features to make the game more fun and less of a grind. Plus the player community here is probably the best out of any other MMO currently on the market.
