Is there any classes that get permanent pets besides...Follow

Is there any classes that gets pets besides the conjurer or the necromancer?

I was really hoping to play as a shaman with a pet like in EQ1 or Vanguard, or as a Beastlord as in EQ1.

Thank you for all of your time and efforts,
Daniel Christie

Defilers and Mystics (the eq2 shaman classes) get wolf pets that are permanent (though not nearly as powerful as necro/conj pets). They have neat AA effects and can do some damage, but don't expect them to tank for you.

Cool,

Thank you very much for the reply. I am very pleased to see that Shamans in EQ2 do infact get a wolf pet. But I sure do hope that SOE will be adding the Beastlord class into EQ2 eventually in a future expansion.

I know that Luclin blew up and that there are no Shar Vahl race anymore but I could have sworn that the Kerran race was related somehow and that they had Beastlords too. One can hope that Beastlords will return once again and fast before the game loses it popularity !!

loses its popularity? EQ2 is more popular than ever, and I don't see that changing anytime in the near future. if you think that only the beastlord class could make the game fun and popular, then you are sorely mistaken and need to look the fact that there are people coming to EQ2 as new players DAILY. this is not something I see changing, let alone EQ2 losing its popularity simply because EQ2 doesn't have the one class that you want in it.

Illusionists also get permanent pets lol but you wanna play a shaman so you only get a perm AA pet :P

But they dont plan on adding any classes untill all classes are balanced, bugs fixed, ect from what the devs said on the forums

Well,

I wasn't trying to imply that the lack of Beastlords was game stopping. I was simply stating my desire to play as one once more.

I was an extremely advid EQ fan. I easily played for 7yrs. It became a large part of my life.

Eventually, EQ's popularity dwindled down to a state where it became a ghost town.

I was just hoping that SOE dosn't make their fans wait too long for the privillage of playing as a Beastlord.

Furthermore I was an original EQ2 player since late beta. I ended up quitting since it quickly became boring in the mid 30's. Every class felt the same and the spells were soo boring. And soloing was a joke. but I have returned after 2yrs or so to find that I should have never left. The game is extremely changed and fun.

You might have to wait a long time. Every time someone's asked the Devs about Beastlords the answer has been something like "it's not currently in the plan".

So, comming from a Shaman in EQ1's prespective. Beastlords SUCK!

just thought Id toss that out. But I agree with the ballance issue, and no needing another class. Id like to see a bit more development in classes. For example, Shadow Knights only have 3 Class specific lines. Decay, Hate, and Reaver. Grated they are all good choices, I need something to complaint about.

To the point of the post.

Mystics and Defilers get an AA line pet wolf that is manly used for buffs.

The EQ1 Shaman pet was really only for solo combat because its DPS was lame and it would die to AE's.

The Conjuror and Necromancer are really the only true pet class.
