Downloading Game QuestionFollow

Good day all! I am an old EQ vet and was thinking of trying EQ2. However, I went to download the free trial and it gave me about and 8 hour download time. That seems a bit too long for me so I was wondering if the download would be faster if I went out and bought the game and installed using the discs. Please advise. Thanks!

Well you do have 3 years of patches an dupdates to pull down. Unfortunately the CDs don't speed up the download /that/ much. Maybe a few minutes but nothing significant. The download usually won't really take 8 hours. The patcher is really bad at estimating. It should only take a few. I say just kick it off then go do other things for awhile.
