Hi all!
I'm new to EQ2, and I have to say I'm loving it.
My former MMORPGs include EQ, WOW and LOTRO, but this game have something special that really appeals to me. Can't put my finger on what it is, but it's something.
Anyways...
I am now level 16 Necromacer, and all my 3 hotbars are filling up with abilities already. It's a bit stressful I must say:-)
New abilites pops up at every level, which brings me to my question:-)
How the h... am I supposed to fit all these abilities into 3 hotbars??
Is it just me or do some of you guys keep alot of your abilities off the hotbars?
Any thoughts or helpful tips would be very welcomed:-)
I really love all these abilities, but I want to get some system going here:-)

Welcome to the game. I usually have anywhere between 3 and 4 hotbars up at any given time. If I really need more room, I take my group buffs and self-buffs that last until canceled off the hot bars.
Another thing you should know is that your abilities upgrade, for the most part, every 14 levels. That means the abilities you see popping up every level are probably replacing the ones you already have. To figure out which abilities you should be using or to compare between a new upgrade at Apprentice I level and the old one at Adept III level, go to your knowledge book and do a sort across by category. This will line your skills up very nicely in your book. It will put the spells and abilities that are on the same reuse timer next to each other making it easier for you to determine which ones you should/want to use.

the Answer is simple:
Just make sure, that one Bar display's it's Spinners (simply right click one of the bar's an check the Options. (not the Window Options; if you click the correct place there's an additional Option-Choice for the Shortcut-Bar.
If the Spinner is Shown right click it an use the option to create a new Shortcut-Bar.
to sort your bars it's interessting to change the icon-size an the position of them. Each Bar has it's own Option-Set (right Click)
if you get a newer version of an existing spell it's not neccessary to keep the older one (lower level) in your bar. simple remove it and let the higher version take it's place so you will have the full power in combat :)
btw: sry about my english, it's not my natural ;)

Well, you can always open new hot-bars (I generally keep 4 open) and additionally your primary hotbar can scroll through different button sets (SHIFT+# where #= the bar you want to see) for access to up to 10 hotbars through just the one.
I have 6 hot bars open for my wizzy. One is for cure/buff potions and the other 5 are for all the spells and AA abilities that i use every raid.
Remember you can now resize them and make smaller so they don't take up your whole screen.

Yep...can open new Hotbars by right clicking and choosing the option. I run with 6 hotbars up at all times....and another 2 are ready on the spinners. So basically, I use 6 bars all the time, and another 2 occasionally.
