Okay.. I just got all expansions and am putting out the "imo" question.. Do you turn off adventure xp to get more aa points or doe it not matter.. All my alts are at lest level 20 when I bought the expansions.. hard to play catch-up?

Yes, hard to catch up. My SK was about level 50 before I bought the AA expansions. A lot of the AA's rely on discoveries - which you've already discovered, quests - which you've already done, and NPC kills - which you've probably already done or if not will need to mentor to gain the XP. I can't remember exactly, but he has less than 20 AA and half of those are KoS & EoF discoveries.

Edit: There again, starting from level 20 may be a bit easier as you would have done less discoveries, quests & NPC kills.

My monk was lvl 56 when KoS came out and in now lvl 70 now has 69 AA. My troub. which i made when I got EoF is now lvl 59 and has 72 AA. You do the math.

so. my 70 SK has 75 AA's. Ive got to say, its much more difficult to get AA's at higher levels because of all the quests youve already completed.

I made an alt Guardian but to see what the difference in tanking abailities where. I turned off combat XP at level 10 and grinded with quests. It takes longer to level, but youll see more game content. Also, Ive got 30 AAs at level 24. A lot easier to get AA's IMO.

it all depends on how you want to play. Grind levels and get AA's later, or get AA's now and level slower. All up to you.

I've never bothered on any of my toons. I just roll them up and play normally. I quest a lot anyhow so I've never really had a problem. I gain AA and regular exp together at a pretty steady rate. I never feel I am 'grinding' AA as I am usually working on quests anyhow and I see AA as just a bonus reward. I personally think that it's silly to deprive yourself of the regular exp.

Just wait till you hit level 70 and then all experience switches to "AA" experience...

It's very slow when that happens. I have 53 AA's at this level and the only way the AA experience bar moves is when I discover, complete a quest, or kill a named. Just killing regular mobs (even triple ups), the AA bar crawls...

The OP's toons are all in the L20'ish range apparently. They have awhile before the hit the L70 wall, I'd imagine.

It depends on if you are playing on a PVP Server. After GU37 it looks like SOE wants all Toons to be the same. They are only going to allow 1.5 aa per xp level. No Dept either to slow down your leveling
Bye Bye Super Twinks
Sorry I'm a bit..amm upset about that. More to your point, to catch up on AA at Level 20 is not that bad, get some Dept (before they take that out) Mentor down and go into Dark Light and quest away, great aa in there.

Katreena, I wouldn't be too concerned If I was in your situation. The AP's come pretty quick if you quest and explore as you level. I do understand the the concern, and I actually made the decision to turn off combat xp's on more than one occasion. Catch that...you can turn off the combat xp's not the entire adventure xp system (someone correct me if this is wrong). So if you turn off your combat xp's and run around and finish off quests...you will get AP and Adventure xp's for finishing the quests.

I'm lvl 58 now, and leveling slowly. I have 48 AP's and I'm trying to increase that number so that I don't hit the lvl70 wall at full speed. So occasionally, I will turn off the combat xp's, so that I don't lvl too quickly. Granted, SOE added 50 points to the system after I was already lvl 45 or so, so I had a bit of catch up that was beyond my control.

I spend allot of time harvesting...harvesting in the tier above my adventure lvl. With that in mind, I have found that my adventure lvling gets out of whack with the AP's. Lots of xp's for killing white and yellow mobs that aren't associated with a particular quest while I'm searching for the harvest nodes. I typically turn off the xp's when I harvest now-a-days.

There are so many choices that you can make for progressing your character, turning off the combat xp's is just a tool that can be used to slow it all down a bit so that things don't get completely out of whack.

I just got back into the game and started with a new character. At L.29 it has 21AP points. Am I lagging behind in the AP department or is that about right for my current level? Also is it really worth the effort of turning off the Adventure XP just to run after every green quest that you can find? I'm on the good side but I found some quest starters in the Nek docks. is it worth stopping all adventure XP and divert my attentions away from TS?

Well, I can't answer your question directly other then to say I am level 40 with only 16 AAs. I have come back to the game like yourself. However, when I came back to the game I only had 8 AAs and I was level 38. They have come extremely quickly. If I were you I would start doing all of the quests in Nek and just watch the XP and AA flow.

Just my opinion.

I started my new toon when the EoF expansion came out. I hadn't previously got any AA expansions, but bought the all-expansion pack to play EoF. My toon is now level 60 and has 63 AA points, so about 1 AA per adventure level. I don't raid much, so don't kill that many named. I have done quite a few collection quests though.
