lol.....man this is just my luck. I dont know how many times i tried downloading this game. I finally graduated and my grand parents got me this really nice lap top. So i know it can handle EQ. But i when i download the free trial thing it wants me to wait 215hors... So once again like always am asking for help. Something has to be wrong? 215 hours is a very long time. I was expecting at least 3hours with all the updates they did. I have a Cable Modem so my parents have a fast internet connection. So anyone know wut is the problem i would really enjoy playing this game...
I'd expect 6-8 hours with the expansions.
A lot of it has to do with the quality of the internet connection. Not just your cable and SOE's line, but all the connections in between. Something on the internet somewhere may be slogging the download down.
The other thing that's critical to know is that the Estimated Time thingie on the patcher is usually way off, especially when you've just started the download.
I'd start it before bed and walk away, lol.

The trial took me 8 hours to download.
goto work/out to dinner/to sleep while it updates and downloads. :)

ok, but dont u think 215hours is a little too much? What were yours when you first started to download. What is it that 9days so half would be wut 4days.. i havent tryed yet but i would like to know what were somebody elses.
From my experience the "estimated time" depends on the size of the file being downloaded. There are very large .vdx (i think) files that consist of major new content (i.e. zones) While they are d/l the estimated time is VERY high, for me like 5-10 hours (i have a very very fast connection)
however, once that file is done, and the patcher has moved on to smaller files, the time drops significantly; only to go back up when another large file is being downloaded.
Hope this helps. The be all end all is that you *will have to d/l the patches and you might as well start now. now, start now. NOW!!!

I don't remember mine, but I've been here since launch. Seriously, the estimator is schizophrenic or something.

What is your internet connection? Broadband (Cable/DSL), Cellular, or regular phone line? This is where you get your est time. If you are on a 28.8 phone line compared to a T1 broadband connection... You see where I'm going with this. If your internet connection is really that bad, then I wouldn't even try to play EQ2.

I have Cable Modem so i have a pretty fast inter connection =P Well am gonna start before i go to bed and then ill go to work so all together is about14hours maybe. HOPE THIS WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
