So im 100% coming to EQ2 and just wanted some help on choosing a class

I want a class that is not overpopulated and guilds need more of (high-end) so that I can be useful and be able to get into groups easily

I also want something that isnt too bad at farming//soloing and solo while leveling up

and lastly which server has a good healthy raid and group population at the high end?

Also

Any information to this noob would be greatly appricated right now ive only play a monk to level 8 and it was quite fun

Well I play a dirge as an alt and I get a lot of comments saying its an appreciated but rare class. I guess troubadour fits there too, its a jack of all trades class so you do not excel in anything unfortunately, solos ok so far for me (39). Otherwise I would say if you want to be useful in high end raiding any non druid healer is always welcome. There is always a demand for Templar/Inq or Mystic/Dirge do not roll a plate tank as there is a lot of them on high levels. As for servers just pick one, all of them seems fine nowadays.

I'd agree with the troubadour/dirge. They are a scout class, so get tracking skills and reasonable DPS, but the musicians also get good buffs/debuffs. Coercer is another slightly more rare class, but can be a handful when the mez breaks and the coerced NPC goes aggro.

There again, if you want to get into groups, healers are always sought after

Different servers have different needs.

On Mistmoore.

Troubadors/Dirge
Coercer/Illusionist
Fury/Warden
Defiler/Mystic
Templar/Warden

Assassin/Ranger
Swashbuckler/Brigand
Conjuror/Necromancer
Warlock/Wizard

Ive listed them in order from what I can remember. Troubadors and in higher need then Dirges. But it also depends on the needs of a guild. My guild has 2 or 3 full time Drige's, but we dont have a single troubador. Other guilds might have troubadors but no dirge.

Also, youll find that the harder to solo classes are more difficult to level, and more rare at higher levels. The are also in higher needs at higher levels.

Tank classes are a little more difficult. While groups need tanks for instance runs and what not, guilds really only need two tanks. Anything more is almost a waste. Some encounters need 3 tanks, but really only MMIS and maybe EH need 3 tanks from what Ive seen.

If you want to paly a needed tank, be a berserker. They can do good DPS, can tank, and have gutroar. Something needed for some encounters.

If you want to be a healer, it all depends. Scouts, stick to either a rogue, or a bard. mage, try to stick to coercer/illusionist because everyone loves power regen.

just a little FYI.
