You will need to remove from your house and your house vault any items that you wish to keep. Your house will go *poof* along with anything in it when you become an Exile. You should be able to store it all in the bank and be fine, but you can not leave it in your house if you want to keep it.

is the house going poof a new thing? I figure with the new moving crate thing, that it would not be that big a deal now. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you are incorrect. hell, the last time I did a betrayal and forgot to relinquish my house was under the old betrayal system. I have yet to forget to relinquish a house under the new system, but at the same time, I have yet to try under the new moving crate system also.

Well, here's my thinking. Under the new moving crate process your furnishings are being cut over to the new housing instance immediately. They aren't being held or stored anywhere for an interim period. In the case of a betrayal however your original home goes away when you become an exile and there is no "deposit point" (ie: a new home you purchased) for your stuff. There are no housing options in Haven and I would imagine that it is unlikely that your house contents/moving crate data would be stored in limbo indefinitely (some people are Exiles for days, weeks or longer), waiting for the day you decide to finish the betrayal and then later buy housing.

If anything I would say that banking any valuable house items that you don't want to lose would be prudent, just in case.
