So Im thinking aobut starting an alt Healer. And im wondering about Flowing ?Thought caps?

Ive looked at some gear and such, and I found that a plate wearing healer could get upwards of 70FT just off of items.

Anyway know if FT has a cap?

because personally, 70 FT at level 70 would be nice on raids.

The cap moves with the user's level. The calculation for your max flowing thought cap is 1.5 x your_level. You aren't likely to reach the cap on gear alone, but a combination of gear and buffs can meet or exceed it.

I always thought that the soft cap was based on the maximum you can gain based off of Items alone. Then of course Songs and spells will stack on top of that.

example:

I have a pimped out Templar with 73FT just from the gear alone. Add an additional 41FT from a Coercer/Illusionist in group. Also add another 46FT from a Troubador/Dirge in a group.

73+41+46= 158FT.

I dont know about you, but I would think its going to be pretty difficult to go OOM in a gorup with 158FT.

Based off of the 1.5 x <current level 70> = 105FT.

Just some thoughts.

I'm kind of new to this and only have exp playing my wiz that has a spell call flowing thought that allows me to convert health to power. Is that what you guys are talking about?

No, though I find it interesting that there is a spell with the same name as the effect.

"Flowing thought" (FT) is an effect found on many items that, when that item is worn, increases the amount of power that you regenerate while in combat. It is usually abbreviated to be 'FT$amount_of_power_regen' (a pair of boots that had Flowing Thought and regenerated 3 power per tick in combat would be known as FT3). The "cap" is a term used to signify the max number at which a statistic is effective, in this case how much FT can a person have before adding more FT wouldn't have any effect.

Thanks for the explanation. Actually I looked up the spell I was talking about and it was Discretionary Flow. Kinda close...

I do know what you are talking about though. I have items that I wear that do that, just never really paid attention to the name flowing thought. Food and drink also add per tick back into power and health. Thanks, I know exactly what you guys are talking about now.

Slight discrepancy there. Food and drink increase health and power per tick OUT of combat. Flowing thought adds it back during combat.
