Gathered all the ingrediants for Fried Frog Leg and located the stove and keg, but .... where do I get the recipe :). I know I'm missing tne obvious, but would appreciate being pointed in the right direction

When you got the quest the NPC should have given you a recipe book. Check your inventory! Right click it and select scribe to "learn" the recipes. If you don't have Artisan Essentials 2, it's available for purchase from any NPC tagged Crafting Trainer (just outside the tradeskill instances in Freeport and Qeynos or very near major crafting areas in Kelethin and Neriak).
Oh - If you have not dinged level 3 you will be unable to scribe the book. Making one or two recipes of any kind will ding you.

Catherine to the rescue.
I scribed a book when I first updated the quest in Stalwart Township to get started and had some recipes. Obviously wasn't the right one. Good now that I scribed AE Vol 2. Is there a list of scribed recipe books? Didn't see them in the Tradeskills portion of the Book of Knowledge. I've played EQ from inception and play Vanguard and LOTRO as well as starting EQ II. I am thinking I waited longer than I should have to start EQ II - really enjoying the play. If anyone knows why Allak doesn't have Vanguard in it's Community, let me know.

Finding your scribed recipe books is not something you'd stumble across, lol.
- Open your Recipe Book (Press N)
- Up at the Upper right is a button marked Edit. Click it.
- The next window is actually three windows. Use the scroll bar to go all the way down... the bottom window lists all the books you have scribed.
Oh, I'm reminded that if there's anything in the filter field of your recipe book it will limit the display. When looking for your frog leg recipe, clear that box and click find.
