I think the title says it all. ITs my understanding Kingdom of Sky released achievements for the game, however if I recall they could only be used once you hit level 20 correct? I know the newest expansion has done more with the achievements, although Im not sure what.

Much as I wanted to love it, I hate WOW. The community sucks, nobody will group with you unless your their best friend or in their guild. Constantly have kids running by just cussing over and over again for no reason while they tried to /duel you. While yea you can solo in that game its just really dull with boring rewards for the quests. Tradeskills felt unrewarding unless you had the time or money to nearly max them out. Trying to max a tradeskill out was painfully slow between the massive amount of regents per combine/and the cost/rarity of the raws. Eq2 might take forever per combine, but you can at least start making somewhat useful items in no time with eq2, and reagents are generally fairly easy to come by now.

In any case if I can get started cheap enough I might give eq2 another go. I recently upgraded my PC so that should take care of ALOT of the performance issues. However it seems to get the game with the latest expansion it will cost me every bit of $40. From what little of the last expansion I seen I don't really have much use for it till higher levels. I know there are newb zones, however they don't seem any better then the newb zones in the old world. Only thing I worry about is the achievements. Seems like you can gain quite a few achievements now before hitting lvl 20. Do you have to have the newest expansion to earn them pre 20, or just KOS?? PRetty much Id just assume start out light and I when the Kunark expansion comes out just spent $40 and get them all then, however I want achievements since they are easier to earn at low levels.

You can begin to earn achievement experience as early as level 10, but yes you must own an expansion that has AA in it (either KoS OR EoF). Kingdom of Sky and Echoes of Faydwer each have their own unique set of AA abilities that they make available for your character (having KoS will give you access to the line of AA it introduced, and having EoF will do the same for the AA that it introduced).

Of the 3 expansions, 2 are for higher level and 1 is cross-tier:

Desert of Flames has solo, group and raid content from roughly level 50 to 60.

Kingdom of Sky has solo, group and raid content from about 55 all the way up to 70.

Echoes of Faydwer is cross tier and has solo, group and raid content for everyone from level 1 all the way up to 70. In fact if you really didn't feel like visiting the old world at all for some reason, you could feasibly go from 1 to 70 without stepping off of Faydwer.

If you go retail hunting (check local game stores as well as big box or department stores (Best Buy, Target, CompUSA, etc.) and can find the retail boxed copy of Echoes of Faydwer; it comes with the original game client and all 3 expansions for $40 so that you do not need to worry about buying each of them individually. It's a good deal. You could wait for Kunark, but who knows how it will be sold or if it will bundle with the other expansions like EoF did.

The Newb zones from EoF are much better than the old zones. The artwork is 1000 times better and the quests are alot more interesting IMO. Also the collection quests from EoF zones rival and are ofter better than MAstercrafted and Legendary of the same tier. Many of the lvl 70 collection rewards should really be labled Fabled when you compare them.

Remeber that EOF has zones from level 1-70. There's great solo questlines, too.
