I like to 3 box. I can't really answer your question though as I haven't played enough to have chars in that level range. I just returned to the game and am really trying to pick a good trio atm.

I've played Zerk / Warlock / Inquis and I tried Monk / Wizard / Mystic. I think I prefer plate tanks, although brawlers add some nice dps and utility. I can't see myself taking a dirge because, although the utility is good, it's not worth the DPS loss. Wizards and Locks to great DPS and you don't have to worry about positioning. Plus they get ports.

I kind of want to try a new combo but it's hard to decide. I want to be able to kill named and run around dungeons up through high level. Not sure what the best combo would be.

SK / Warlock / Inquis or Defiler

SK / Necro / Inquis or Defiler

Zerk instead of SK...same combos as above

Guardian / Wizard / Templar

Monk / Wizard / Mystic

Bruiser / Necro / Defiler

I'd love to have a druid, but I also like how Clerics / Shaman can precast wards and reactives. This gives you a great head start on healing while you concentrate on gaining agro and DPSing at start of fight. Druids just seem like they require too much button smashing to heal

Coercer / Illusionists sound interesting. But again, not sure if their DPS contribution would be worth dropping Sorcerer.

Guardians seem interesting, but might be too low on DPS for a trio. High DPS means shorter fights and less worries about power running out.

I also tend to like AoE. Makes boxing easier if you can just let loose on a group of mobs instead of targeting one by one.

So. Now to decide on the best trio for doing things like you are talking about.

While i don't have any experience 3 boxing, or dual boxing for the matter, i think i might be able to offer some insight.

for tank, i think SK would be good idea. They can FD themselves or others, so i would make a macro that targets healer and FDs them in case of emergencies. and on easier targets they do great damage too.

For dps i would go warlock, god they do crazy group damage these days. and the porting you mentioned.

For healer i would go defiler, the group ward is a god send and you can pre group ward, so if you mash a warlock group nuke too soon, everyone in the group has a fat ward on them while your SK gets agro back.

Just an idea, i'm sure other people have other good ideas of trios. The way i've outlined it, it should be pretty easy to manage. Group ward, pull with SK, drop a couple taunts, NUKE NUKE NUKE NUKE... death to mobs. you prolly kill most mobs (other than named) before your group ward falls off. Also, just leave the group ward queued again after it's cast once. Should be able to leave healer alone and focus on managing taunts vs dps.

I have also 2 boxed. I found Inq and Sk is a great combo and Zerker and Dilfer is really good to. As soon as those 3 box toons get to 100 aa's ( that will be soon) is pretty soon Ill be adding a dirge to these combo's there buffs are just amazing
and dpsing with the recent updates is very good.
