Good Morning, AllaK's - 5/24/07Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

Well Neriak is in-game and like hundreds of others I braved the molasses-like lag pit that was Darklight Woods and the seat of the Tier`Dal empire. As planned I switched citizenship from Freeport to Neriak for my coercer and got a nice little pad there. Good times. Mentored down to score some AA from lowbie quests. I also rolled an Arasai bruiser strictly for the purpose of reserving a choice character name and did the first few lowbie quests for it before punching out to watch the kick-*** Lost finale.

How was your evening?

I managed to get sick, and went to bed disgustingly early.

well, rolled up my arasai inquisitor, moved my SK to Neriak (a high elf in Neriak...not something you see every day, but it fits with his back story), made some bronze gear for my inquis, the sailed to level 12 despite having no vitality for most of it. pretty fun night, overall.

See, that's one thing I miss about EQ1. Specific city and racial factions. While your character's personal back story may have him moving to Neriak, why would the Tier`Dal after thousands of years of conflict and more recently hundreds of years of strengthening their empire in Neriak under the zealous rule of the fundamentalist Innoruk disciple, Queen Christianos, tolerate your presence there, SK or otherwise? It just seems odd. You'd think that halflings and high elves especially would be right out of the question regardless of class or intent just due to the deep inherent hatred.

It doesn't make sense. "Yes, while I'm made entirely of pure evil and driven by hatred and while my entire race's communal identity is an ever burning desire to see your race wiped from the planet in a glorious display of malice and violence...just do us a few quick odd jobs for me and you can move right on in, pal". It's just...not right somehow.

I am planning to do this my self, but am unsure how to proceed? Any advice?

Just go to Netiak and start the citizenship quests (Coming Soon to the database!). You do not have to betray Freeport. When you get to Neriak the quest giver should be about the only one who will speak to you.

I forget the fellow's name, but in the Christianos Plaza district of Neriak there is a building called the House of Landlords. Inside you will find a citizenship registrar. Speak to them to kick off the citizenship quest which is an absurdly simple series of assassinations and thefts which lead you on the quick 'n dirty path to citizenship.

Pushed my Mystic to 54 and finished speccing him out for pure melee. With 4 spells turned CA's from the Mystic line and a 100% melee crit from the shaman line, I'm having a blast soloing. I'm making every effort to get Master 1's for my healing spells to offset any healing limitations. So far, no groups have complained. It's been awhile since I've had a character that can solo decent and not run away screaming like a little girl when green heroics wander in. I hope the AA's dont take too big a nerfing when RoK rolls out...

And I hear the quest *should* make it into our db tonight, for everyone else!
