not without betraying. your bind point is to your home city. so if you want to set your recall to Qeynos, you need to betray to Qeynos. if you want to set your bind point to Freeport, you need to betray to Freeport. those are the mechanics of the game as SOE has established them.

I think if you check the patch notes you'll see that everyone can change their bind point now:

Quote:
The 'Tie That Binds' quests have been removed from the game. All new players will receive the 'Set Recall Point' ability at the same time that they receive their 'Call of …' ability. Players currently on these quests will find them auto-completed. Existing characters who have not started these quests will be granted the 'Set Recall Point' ability instantly.

Well, I've used that Bind Recall Point (from the quest) to bind in some funky places.

Guess we should test it, eh?

It may work if you are trying to bind in same alignment areas. I know I tried setting mine in the Feerrott and it wouldn't work, but if I had tried Rivervale it might have. I will run some tests tonight and let you know what I find out.

Still dont seem right that you have to betray. Have all the spells go to app1 even though you are still going to be a goodie even though it will be in the old world.

Well, betray was the wrong word I think. It's only betrayal if you are switching alignments. To move from Kelethin to Qeynos or vice versa, it's a simple matter of doing a quick short quest to change your citizenship to the other, allied city. You do not get a skill reset for doing this. Skill resets only come with a class change that is part of a full "betrayal" which is a much more lengthy and strenuous process where not only your city is changed, but your alignment is as well (Kelethin-to-Freeport, Qeynos-to-Freeport, etc.).

Stu's got it. You don't have to betray and have your stuff reset to change cities in the same alignment. So don't do the betrayal quests and go to Haven; just do the citizenship quests in your new home.

Frankly, I don't know, my assignment was Darklight Woods. I do believe we've got someone entering it Very Soon.

The Kelethin-to-Qeynos citizenship quest is actually a series of 3 small quests; "Her Cleanliness", "Her Gates", and finally "Her People". Look in your quest journal under the Completed tab and see if all three of these are listed. (even though it isn't a true betrayal, they may be listed under the Betrayal category heading). If you haven't completed those 3 quests then you aren't finished switching citizenships. If you have completed all 3, then you are either doing something wrong or you have encountered a bug and should contact customer service/report it.

Yes that worked. The quest starter is a npc outside mage tower in SQ. thanks for the help.
