I play on LD. I have put up two chest pieces of the new DFC armor for SK's and Guards. I priced them reasonably, considering the cost of blood iron, at 1p, 50g. For two weeks, they have not sold. I have even pulled them off the broker and advertised them in chat. At one point, I even tried selling them for 75g. Still nothing. I was wondering if any of you other tailors or armorers, on LD or otherwise, are experiencing the same problem.

I have to admit I have not tried other armor yet, so it might just be bad luck with the classes I picked but this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and I am reluctant to spend more money on another experiment.

Also, I am beginning to think that either people just do not have enough knowledge about the new armor or that the level 37 on it is off-putting. I try to explain to them that this armor is much better than any other T4 mastercrafted armor and very comparable to T5. Plus, it offers a set bonus. No other mastercrafted armor (besides Nest or EH, I'm sure) can boast that. Any ideas? I think this armor is great for the level range and it looks amazing to boot.

More likely people are farming the drops and having them made privately, IMO.

Possibly, but every time I auction them in the level channels, I get people asking, "Where did you get that?" It's probably some of column A and some of column B.

I used to have to educate people about the usefulness of totems. While you couldn't give away free samples, you could get the item codes and link 'em in various chat channels :)

Oooo. A good thought. Can I get the item codes in game or do I have to use the EQ2 database?

Not in game, per se, but they're in your log.

To turn on (or off) you log, in game, type /log.
That will make a file with your character name that logs everything in your chat. Item codes will show there. They look like: \aITEM -443481209 -2033403702:Ancient Forged Trinket\/a

then you can just copy and paste it to your chat (Copy = CRTL-C, Paste = CRTL-V)

I use that to get a fresh screenshot of stuff for the database, sometimes.

Ah cool. Thanks Cal. Does that work if you are just examining an item as well?

I think it has to hit your chat somewhere. No problem though, run into your house or a quiet corner and do /say [drag item here], that'll put it in your chat.

I sold 12-15 monk/bruiser Gi/Cap combos at 1.3p to 1.5p each piece - 3 full adept sets 1.3p to 1.5p each piece - 4 or 5 blood threaded robes at 1.5p and 1 full set mossy at 1.5p each. I think a few things are involved here. One simple reason is the Gi and Cap are really cool looking while the mossy armor graphic just looks ~ eh... ok.

Chest drop only loot meas high level folks can't quickly gray farm the zone. 18 hour lockout means less farming by hardcore players. Even mentored down a duo team or 2 boxer has a very difficult time dropping the named mobs - which drop the ore at a much higher rate. Since the mini boss are so hard to duo that means full or nearly full teams are required to clear the instance so the ore that does drop is thinly spread across the non crafting player base.

Must craft the item in DFC - which benefits people who are motivated to make the trip to DFC but makes it very hard for Level 5/70 crafting mules, so those folks - hardcore crafters - just don't bother. Seems like people don't want to buy L32 mastercrafted only to drop it five levels later to buy an expensive and rare mid tier set. Very few crafters are listing full sets but the folks who can afford the armor set only want a full set - they are put off by not getting the full set gear bonus - kinda an annoying tease to look at your 5of6 set of armor and not get the bonus - so why bother.

Conclusion - People want the full set -> so craft full sets. When I did sell a full set it always went to one buyer. If I ran out of caps a Gi buyer would return in the next couple of days and buy the cap - without exception.

The miners at the bottom of the Zek mine shaft drop the blood ore - I got more ore there in less time than clearing DFC.

After almost three years, I am now a noob again. I tried doing the /log last night and it said everything was going into a certain directory. Any idea where this directory might be located? Ah the joys of learning something new.Smiley: blush

And Trappin, thanks for the info. The leather armor on my server sells great actually. It's the plate and chain that is lagging behind a bit. And, unfortunately, I cannot farm the mines of zek because I am level 50 and my closest alt is only level 21. I may go on a leveling bonanza this weekend to get him to where he can survive in the mines on his own. It looks like I may have to invest a few more coins and try to put a full set up on the broker.
