Good morning, happy campers.
As you can see by my last post, I was out of town yesterday so no play time for me. Instead, a discussion question for the class:
Neriak. Interested or "so what"? How many of you actually plan on rolling an Arasai or creating a new toon of an existing race to start fresh in this popular old school city reborn? How many of your are going to bother with the lowbie quests through the city and through Darklight Woods? How many of you are actually contemplating betrayal in order to move to Neriak? And on the other hand, how many of you don't care at all? I'm sure someone out there is looking at this and going, "Meh". Perhaps you are a raider and don't care about the content. Perhaps you are a lifelong High Elf player and wouldn't be caught dead rolling a toon in Neriak. let us know which side of the fence you are on and what your plans are regarding Neriak.
As for me, I have one character that I will probably betray/switch citizenship to Neriak from Freeport. My coercer is a DE and in EQ1 it was my one toon that didn't reside in Freeport. So bringing her home would be a fun li'l bit of RP. I also have a character slot reserved for the creation of an Arasai, for no greater reason than that I have several wonderful ideas for Arasai characters names.

At least ya got the intro right this time. 
Anyway, I spent all last night harvesting PoF. I had never been in the zone before because I had always envisioned it to be a very small, instance-type area. Boy was I wrong. I like harvesting there so much better than in SS or LFay. Snagged about 200 roots and pelts over the course of a few hours and logged out for the evening.
In regard to your question, I am excited about the new content, but I will not be rolling an Arasai. I will probably meander over there sometime in the near future and check out all of the new areas and the quests, mentoring of course for the AP.

I'm gonna be rolling up a new arasai toon, and moving my SK to Neriak. So what if a High Elf will stick out like honey-baked ham at a vegetarian dinner, it fits the backstory I created for the character. and thank god its not a complete betrayal, but a ["hey, I'm an evil guy and I wanna live here" "ok, do this, this, and this...welcome to Neriak"] kind of thing. and the houses are so much nicer in Neriak, but that's just my honest opinion of them.
I created an Arasai to check out the newbie area and to scout Neriak out to see if I wanted to betray my DE Necro and bring him home. I created a Defiler and kinda like the guy so might stick with him a little longer than planned. I like him better than my tree hugging Fea Illusinist so he might not be used anytime soon.
Took like 5-10 min to get to 10. Which means either SOE upped xp or I do not need to take time to learn the little things again like first timers, but do not remember any other alts leveling so fast. Anyone else level really fast. This is my 4 toon but I did not think it would be so fast to level.

Wow, sure didn't go that fast for my toon :) Of course, I did every single quest available, and was documenting for the db too.
I might of over stated how fast it was more like 10-20 mins I just know it was way faster than all my other toons.
