Swapping Sound FXFollow

Does anyone know a way to swap out sdfx in EQII, in particular footsteps? I am really enjoying playing a fae atm, but that horrible dronning sound their wings make is driving me nuts. Especially since I have to play with headphones on and it feels like I have a mixture of bees and an annoyingly loud bass pumping subwoofer jammed in my ears whenever I move.

I know I can turn the sound off by turning down 3-d sound fx under the options menu, which gives me a nice, quite glide, but it also disables all the spell noises and other sounds (Which reallydetracts from the atmosphere of the game.).

So is there a way to swap files so my fae just has normal footsteps or no move sound at all?

Is this possible or should I just reroll another race?
