Good Morning, AllaK's - 5/16/07Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

HARVESTING HARVESTING HARVESTING!

I decided to make my defiler a provisioner. Earlier I took him up to crafting level 20 when I realized that I had completely neglected his harvesting skills. So I hiked up my boots, cranked up the music and got to harvesting. Every skill through every tier needed leveling. I've decided to keep the levelling of the harvest skills in-line with the max for the tier of food I am making. Since at 20 I am making T3 food, so I took all harvesting skills to 140 (minimum for T4). When I hit 30 I'll take the skills to the minimum of T5 and so on and so forth. It was a whole lot of boring but it had to be done. After I was done I crafted a bit and went to 21 before punching out.

How was your evening?

Didn't get to play because I was cropping 150+ screenies of Darklight woods. Actually, I got to about #56.

That and baby is still trying to cut his molars.

Work has finally slowed down enough that I can get back to the important things...

I have been worried about the lack of progress on my AP trees, so I decided to take advantage of the option to turn off combat XP's while I knock out some quests. I am currently sitting at lvl55 and I have 41 AP's.

I hadn't been to LF yet so I have been running through there gobbling up all of the quests. Between the discovery XP's and the quest XP's I've scored 2 AP's so far. I'm hoping that I can get 4-5 more with all of the quests that are available in this area.

I'm sure you can, I got 4+ while I was cataloging the solo quests, and I didn't even get to them all (that's a hint: submit infoz!!)

Heheh, I have just recently started to submit to the site, little things to update the vast volumes of older content...I'll try to remeber to take notes so that I can add to the data base, thanks for the reminder.

I've found a couple of tricks to farming data, 'cause I just don't seem to be the kind that can take notes in wordpad or on paper and make sense of them later.

First, the in-game browser is a great shortcut. A macro of the line '/browser http://eq2.allakhazam.com/search.html?q=%T' (minus the 's) is a godsend.

Second, in the game Options somewhere (Maybe under UI?) is an option to display full information on a drop in your chat window, including the LOC. That puts everything except zone in your chat window for screenshots. (I hit "/" for /who just before I loot, then zone info is in the shot too.)

Third, instead of taking notes on quests, screenshot your quest journal as you complete each step. You'll have a record of every step along the way. If you keep your Quest Helper window open to the quest you're killing mobs for then that info is in the screenies too.

Of course, this stuff works for me. I get much less game inturruption when I can just press my screenshot button whenever I see data. Might seem hopelessly messy for anyone else.

Yeah, there's a lot of older content that needs updating. People who were submitting as the game was young moved up the Tiers, of course. Every now and then I run into a screenshot that's pre-LU-13 and needs replacing.

All data is good data :)

Calthine...thanks for the hints on collecting info, that will definately save time and effort.

Sorry that I wasn't clear with the statement about vast volumes of older content...what I meant to say was...

There is a vast amount of data available on the quests, and as I find errors or outdated info I am trying to make a habit of submitting updated info. I did not intend to suggest that all/most of the information is out of date, in fact I find that the information in most of the descriptions is spot on. Sorry for the unintentional backhanded compliment

Oh, no offense taken, and I didn't take it that way at all :) We know there's outdated content. One of our many ongoing projects is re-doing all the newb zones, some of which still have launch-era quests which are no longer in game. There are four EQ2 Zam staff members working constantly to add new data and update older info (as well as bring you editorials and news), and without people like you contributing it'd be a daunting job. Even a small thing, like a new screenshot for an old collectable, is desirable data.

While game changes are kind of frustrating for a database site like this, a game that is constantly growing and changing is a joy to play, and well worth the work it takes to keep information up-to-date. Heh, job security!

BTW, I love my job! Smiley: inlove

Well, im posting very late...

Im working late this evening so that I dont feel obligated to come in on my days off to help the slower reps...

Anyway. I had the chance to Main Tank the other night. Ive got to say, It wasnt all that bad. However, people got a little sloppy with agro control. /sigh. We are doing Deathtoll tomorrow night and im looking forward to getting ascendant. It evades me still.

Ive also been gathering information on quests in hope to get more AA's. Ive done as much as i can solo, and was able to duo with a fury a lot of heroic quests. We cleared the Acadeium(sp?) this morning... that was fun. No upgrades for either of us. Was working on a quest. Still, was good times. No deaths of course.
