Hi everyone.
I play a 48 pally on najena. I have solo'd roughly 85% of it. Reading in the forums i keep seeing people joking about the pallys inability to tank. I haven't played many other tank classes. None past 25 or so. So i didn't notice a massive difference in tanking skills. Obviously some have more dps, some have more durability. But all in all is the pallys tanking abilities really that sub-par compared to others or is it just for raid and end game where they can't compare?

Paladins tank just fine. They have supplemental ward/healing, a wide array of stuns, and can pretty much lock aggro under the right conditions. Some "pure" tanks have gotten it into their heads that knight classes are inferior tanks, but don't listen to them. They have no idea what they are talking about.
As much as I like to bash them (good natured ribbing, I assure you), paladins are very good tanks. Sure, they may watch the Lifetime channel and knit sweaters in their off-time, but that doesn't mean they can't take hits like the best of 'em.

reminds a of a funny (albeit played out) pally joke:
Why don't pally's have Fiegn Death?
Cause the fall would kill them.
I love that joke. But i agree with Stu, pallys can tank and hold agro just fine, assuming the person behind the keyboard knows what they are doing. I have a 70 wizy and and they hold agro just fine. Amends much?

It's really kind of sad. Some paladins are convinced that "Revive" is a combat art.
Yep, Pallys can be built very solid, and their aggro control is bordeline insane with the right amends targets with em.
Their capabilities are often underated, though they are often specced/geared to run untility/jack-of-all trades roles as well...so when they have to step into a pure build's shoes...
