Good Morning, AllaK's - 5/11/07Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

Logged in my main and purchased myself an ebon cluster so that I could make a spear for my defiler. Turns out that I surprisingly hadn't made an ebon short spear before, so the bonus exp was a nice surprise. Mailed it off.

Logged in my defiler and was only a few % away from the next level. Killed some solo stuff and ran around Feerott on some solo quests. Got asked to help kill a named. Ran across a discovery point on the way to the named that dinged me to 42. Got my first group cure. That should be fun. But i'm running out of hotbar space. Some rearrangement is in order.

Mail finally arrived. Picked up the ebon spear, equipped it and punched out.

How was your evening?

Last night was a mixed bag... we didn't do too hot on the raid, BUT my new gear/spell upgrade combo has DEFINETLY paid off... used to be that I hung out in the lower end of the parse list, but with the exception of a few encounters (usually ones where I died (Catalyst + Fusion = Dead Kerra Wizard LOL)) I managed to hover within the top 12 so I'm definetly onto something here. I think I need to work on my gear and DEFINETLY need to get some spells up to MASTER or at least above Adept I...

Decided that tonite I'll stick with the main, do some writs, maybe some tradeskilling (I HATE tradeskilling on my main, love it on the alts though) tomorrow is Blingue's day (at least until the raid) LOL

last night was rather fun. finally deleted my old inquis, and since I am gonna get 2 new slots when LU35 hits the servers, I went ahead and created a new toon, a fae illusionist. I'm enjoying it so far. friend of mine logged in and we were gonna try to get a group together for Sol Eye part of Lost Legend of Lavastorm. well, he had to bug out (damn RL problems) before we really got started, but we eventually got to Sol Eye (with a full group none the less). well, during our trek down thru Sol Eye, we lost 2 people, but due to the fact that we had a 54 (who dinged 55) tank (me) and a 54 healer, the only thing it did was slow down the kills a little. got 2 of the named giants for LLoLS. 2 more and I am one happy SK.

btw, does anyone know how to work Bastion of Flames (where to stand, etc.)? I figured out how to get the efreeti to pop, but the lava gets us every time.

for the first few waves of mobs... the ones along the outside the of the circle room, you need to stay on the dark colored ring right in front of each mob. The lava fills from the middle i belive. However on the last guy, i belive you stand in the middle on a platform. You need to kill quickly too because the lava rises until the mobs die.

Hope this is all still correct, it's been a while since i've done it

Rub the bottles...immediately leap back to the middle....and stand absouletly still. As long as you don't move, the lava does not touch you :)

Lava dissapears again after each Djinn kill...rinse repeat for each bottle.

I had an uneventful evening. Have had sleep issues all week...temperature is going up and down a lot every day hre. Logged on just to tradeksill....dinged 53 Armorer on my SK, bought and scribed the next books and did a bit of guild mailings. Chatted for a bit and called it a night.

I wasnt planning on playing at all last night. However, baby girl was really fussy so I grabbed a beer, turned on the History Channel and logged on my 38 Assassin for a RE run. Our group had no tank but 2 assassins, inquisitor and a level 70 Wizard mentored down. We really didnt need one, cuz before anyone took any real damage the mobs were dead. The mobs deeper in gave us some troubles, but after only an hour of playing I was already 50% from 39. Punched out to get some sleep so I could stay awake at work.

I presented my theory to my wife:

Fat Tire + EQ2 + History Channel = Happy Baby

The middle? seemed to me that the edges were a little higher than the middle, and I got toasted there. Is there something that I am/was missing when I was doing that? the group that I was with (myself included) really do want to try to beat that instance, if I can figure out what to do.

not saying you're wrong, Chimp. just trying to get specifics for when we re-attempt it.

Qwash, buddy. It really doesn't matter where you stand. Movement is what kills you. I tend to have everyone stand next to the bottle. Rub it, kill the genie, let the lava recede, then move to the next bottle. The lava will not harm you no matter where you stand so long as you don't move. If you hit an arrow key and edge forward in the slightest, you die. As long as everyone stands still for the duration of each fight, the lava is a non-issue.

Excellent. thanks alot. time to try to find another group and head back to Sol Eye and Bastion of Flames to re-attempt, with this new information. I appreciate the information from everyone. I've always enjoyed the help that everyone provides. makes the game that much more enjoyable.
