Defiler ClassFollow

Greetings everyone,

I'm looking for some information regarding the Defiler Class. I was on test trying out the new race and thought i'd try some of the classes I never played before. I decided to roll a defiler and got him up to level 5. So far I'm really surprised because It was more enjoyable than expected. I LOVE the boney legs that come out of the ground and go back in when casting spells, and it feels like a really evil class. The early spells I've gotten I really like.

What I'd like to know is how is this class? Can they solo effectively? I don't need the fastest soloing class but I want to be able to solo. They wear heavy armor I saw so I assume they aren't that bad Melee.

Any info you guys can give me on this class would be appreciated. So far the class seems fun at the first 5 levels(which i know is not a good judgement which is why i'm asking for more info)

Thanks for your help!

I have a defiler that I've played to L41. The /can/ solo, I just haven't quite noodled out how to do it efficiently. They don't lay out tons of damage so to me solo'ing seems really really slow. They generally aren't in danger of being killed while solo'ing, but there is a danger that you will nod off at your keyboard when attempting it. On the other hand I may just be spoiled by my SK with it's fast and efficient solo'ing. I'm sure for a priest defilers aren't that bad.

The neat spells continue coming and get better. Lots of really great buffs. More DoT's and debuffs. Tons of pet related stuff in your AA's. It's a snazzy all-around priest class. Your biggest problem will be finding people who understand what you do an how to use you. I can advertise "L41 defiler LFG" all day and just get crickets chirping. Then I say "A defiler is a healer, people" and I get a dozen tells. Since it's not a popular class, a lot of people aren't familiar with it. But build a good rep and focus and you'll be fine.

soloing is slow going when it comes to a defiler. although you wont have a hard time finding a group for the most part. As far as heavy armor, they wear chain. So the can take some hits, but mainly because they have wards up 90% of the time.

If you are playing a defiler, your main job will be healing.
