Station Access games... did I say that right?Follow

#1 May 07 2007 at 9:57 AM Rating: Decent
I am looking for a list of games that I can play if I subscribed to the Station Access.

I am mainly wondering if I was to resubscribe to EQ2 if Vanguard was on that Station Access list too.

any info or any links would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks a bunch.

Yeah, that link is your best answer. In short yes, EQ2 and Vanguard are both included with the Station Access.

Ouch... $29.99/month?

What happened to the $21.99/month rate? If I had Station Pass before could I be grandfathered into the $21.99/month deal or would I need to pay the $29.99/month?

I am only interested in EQ2 and maybe Vanguard and paying $29.99/month isnt saving me any money if I decide to just play those two games. I do have SWG too, but I seriously doubt I would play that again for longer than an hour.

I really really like EQ2 (I have a L.37 Shaman, and various other L.20s), but I normally dont play it longer than 2-3 weeks at a time when I come back. It isnt that I get bored with it, but I tend to wander back to WoW after so long and play that. It is just so easy to solo in WoW, and since I have a 4 month old baby that me and my wife takes care of non-stop it seems... grouping isnt much of an option.

I want to try out Vangaurd also, but there isnt a free trial out yet, so my options are waiting or buying it and getting the first free month.

I will probably try out the Fay trial thing before buying the expansion pack.

Also, since my highest level character is a L.35 Shaman, which expansions do I need to buy? I would want the new Fay expansion for sure, and I have the Desert of Storms (or whatever it was called). I am unsure if the other one I didnt list is (or isnt) included with the Fay expansion.

Is there a pack of the expansions that included everything?

Thanks again for your answers.

If you're only going to wander to a game for 2-3 weeks at a time before you return to WoW, why buy the expansions? Kingdom of Sky includes the Achievement Points system (EQ2's answer to WoW's talent points). Desert of Flames and EoF both offer addition content for the game, as well as a new race in EoF.

I'm just getting out of your situation (mines 8 1/2 months old and pretty routine now with going to bed/sleeping through the night), so I would have to recommend just picking one and going with one game for the next 4-5 months. Jumping around just gets to be a headache...lol.

If you're considering EQ2 and intend to buy a copy regardless, buy the EoF retail pack. It has the base game + three expansions.

If you are going to play both, off and on, go w/ the station access pass... I have EQ, EQII and Vanguard all on the Pass... There are some other advantages w/ the pass, in EQII, as well. You get all of the small expansions (can't remember what they are called, atm)Things like Split Paw Saga, etc., for free when you use the pass.. so you don't have to buy them separately.. Also, you get more character slots with the Pass.. When the new GU comes out at the end of the month, Pass members will have 12 character slots.. Nice if you want to try out the new races, or just need a Mule to store your extra items on.. It is not really a $$ savings if you consider 2 games, but for me, w/ 3 it saves me the cost of one of them. I have not played VG for quite a while now, (too many bugs, still, imo) but it costs me nothing to have it on there, so I leave it there.I will go back and check it out later and see if it has smoothed out any.GL with your decision..And welcome back to EQII (if you decide to come back) I did the same thing;Left for a while and came back.. The game is much improved, now.Smiley: yippee

I went ahead and bought EoF, but I cant afford Vanguard right now.

The next question would be the Station Pass vs the Station Access.. regarding the extra character slots.

At one point I had a Station Pass (well over a year ago) and I dont remember if that actually gave me the extra character slots or if it was the Station Access thing...
At that time the Station Pass was $6-ish (or something) added to the monthly charge. Like I said... I dont remember if that extra slots came with that or if I only got the extra slots when I upgraded to the Station Access a month or so later.

So... if I was to want the extra slots now would I have to get the Station Access for $30/month (and get Vanguard when I could), or would the Station Pass give me the same slots for roughly $6/month above the EQ2 subscription.

Also... to cover all of the bases... is there even a difference between the Station Pass (if it even exists anymore) and the Station Access?

I am hoping that I can stick around much longer this time and get some playtime in before the new expansion comes out. Read it might be in November, so that would be awesome.

At the moment it costs the same amount to pay for two EQ2 accounts as it does for 1 Station Access.
Station Access gives 10 character sots total. Two EQ2 accounts gives you 12 character slots total.
But you do need to pay twice for expansions and adventure packs with the 2 accounts.

But in a recent news update SOE announced that in GU 35 they would be adding an extra character slot to all accounts - and 2 to all Station Access accounts.
So if you only need one more slot then just wait up for this.

Hmm... wife was nice and bought me Vanguard today so after the 30 days free if I am still interested in it I will look at getting the Station Access Pass thing.

BTW... I think a Station Pass is/was a $6.95/month thing that let you play some of Sony's online games (not like EQ2/EQ/SWG), it also let you make your own journal with characters or something and gave you the extra character slots. At the time that I had this I only got it for the extra slots.

A Station Access Pass worked the same way it does now and it included everything the Pass did.

Sony might have done away with the actual "Station Pass" and just converted everything over to the Access Pass.

I cant find a direct link to a "Station Pass" page, but it is still listed under my subscriptions for $6.95/month, and when I click on it it doesnt give me the option to renew so maybe it is something obsolete now.
