sick of WoW, whats eq2 like?Follow

#1 Apr 29 2007 at 4:45 PM Rating: Decent
hey all,

I've been playing WoW for almost a year and got sick of just about everything in the game, especially the people playing it....

so I got a few Q's about EQ2...
1) Is the community generally friendly?
2) I've read some other posts w/ Q's about the PvP, but can I do just a little bit of PvP on a PvE server?
3) Last one coz I'm sure your all sick of hearing about us WoW refugees, are there 3hr long queues to get into the servers?

Thanks in advance!

1) Yes, better than the general population of WoW.
2) No idea - duels and the arena.
3) Whats a queue? > you get my point.

Edit: The retail box version of EoF includes all expansions and the original EQ2.

One thing we hear a lot over on the Official Forums is how much more helpful and nice the EQ2 Community is compared to the WoW Community. Not that we don't get our share of disreputable indivualds, but overall, great people here.

Welcome to Norrath!

I reciently left WoW after playing for over 18 months.

As A former Diehard WoW player I must say that I am sorry I didn't pick up EQ2 instead of WoW.

Community is much much more friendly and mature.

So far I haven't seen any Queue's on any server even when it says it's high population online.

Since I just started playing a week ago, I don't know about the PvP on a PvE server, but I think I saw an Arena in Freeport.

Overall, It's definatly 110% worth it. You won't be disappointed. That is, unless you're one of those zomg!! 1337 Epix!!1!1! type of WoW kids. But judging by the quality of your post, I don't think you are. :P

We don't have server queues. Ever! We do have downtime for maintenance and updates, but it's usually quite minimal.

1) Yes the EQ2 community is way nicer then the WoW community
2) Well on EQ2 pvp servers are a gank fest filled with people in MC/legendary/fabled gear :P...But on PvE there is an arena and a command to duel other players.

3) Nope...no server queues lol i hate the idea of that :P There are updates that range from 1-2 hours...sometimes they have to keep it down for 3 if it comes to it (that only happened once in my year and a half of playing)

the EQ2 community is VERY friendly. Both in-game and offline (forums, etc)
PvP on a PvE server... well, there is duelling and the arena
there are no server queues ... as others have mentioned, there ARE downtimes for maintenance, but they are usually an hour. major game updates are longer, but they are announced in advance.

I think we trade not having server queues for zones.. I find that quite a an exceptable trade.
