Then it gets even better! When i finally pick create character..the screen stays black for awhile...and am freaking out again! Then it says i need this "NIVIDIA GRAPHIC CARD?" and am omfg!!! A grapic card!!! common EQ2! WoW wasnt this annoying! So i look uo this grahpic crad and u know what i see....http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y100/ade_mallegni/Cant.png ..oh ya...EXPENISVE isnt it? So am thinking is there a graphic crad thats "CHEAP" and will make EQ2 work? Anywere between $50-$90...this would really help.

Your complaints:

1) Regarding the 10 CDs: You do realize that EQ2 consists of the original game and THREE expansions right? And not to mention all the game updates in between all those expansions. That's a LOT of content.

2) $25/month? Actually it's:
1 month - $14.99
3 months - $41.99
6 months - $77.99
12 months - $143.99

Are you looking at the Station Access subscription? I think you are. If you get that subscription you get these game subscriptions for that price total:
EverQuest (U.S version/SOE servers only)
EverQuest Online Adventures (US NTSC version only)
EverQuest II (U.S version/SOE servers only)
Star Wars Galaxies (U.S version/SOE servers only)
PlanetSide (U.S version/SOE servers only)
The Matrix Online (U.S version/SOE servers only)
Vanguard: Saga of Heroes (U.S version/SOE servers only)
StationPassGames (Infantry, Cosmic Rift, Tanarus)

3) If you are complaing about a graphics card, yes WoW is less graphic intensive. *shrugs* Just how it is. You could have read the system requirements before buying.

4)Epic armor doesn't compare? If you want WoW graphics, then stay with WoW. Not trying to be mean. The armor that you compared isn't what all the armor looks like (and that's not end-game gear). Sure there's not a crap-ton of big glowy, particle-effect equipment out there but there are a good number that look really great. It's different styles, that's all.

hmm where do i start.

first off, its not $25/month, not sure where you read that.

Secondly. I will agree about the graphic/PC requirements. WOW will run great on a low/med system, EQ2(and i know some will flame me for this) and the crappy graphics engine requires ALOT to run at any sort of FPS with decent looking graphics.

However, EQ2 went for the more Realistic look, whereas WoW went the cartoon route. Both are good, its totaly personal opinion on which you like more. Neither one of them is "bad".

As for the Epic armor. Well, what you listed for EQ2 is not high end armor. But not that that matters much. Even the high end armor really does not look that great imo(unless you are lucky enough to be in a guild that can kill every mob(not many guilds can)and even then you have to come up against the Random Number Generator, so you will be lucky to see a full suit)). Dont get me wrong, its fine, but i do think they coudl do much better to make it look better(this is in the works however but everything seems to come slowly in the art dept.)

Overall, *I* love EQ2, play it everyday and raid everynight. I played WoW till around lvl 50 and just could not bring myself to play anymore. Again, thats just personal opinion which everyone is welcome to.

Anymore questions? Ask away!

It's called installing, not downloading. The DVD version is only 4 discs? It's been awhile since I installed it.

This seems like a good time to relink this little gem.

In all seriousness, rocketade, you need to slow down, take a deep breath and read. The monthly subscription cost is only $15. You don't need a $1700 dual gpu water cooled monstrosity for a video card. Follow this link for a list of supported/compatible video cards. As for the armor, well the comic I linked is true. WoW armor is designed to be flash and cartoony. And that's fine. EQ2 armor is designed to be more realistic and utilitarian. It's just a different style. If you want flash, don't worry. You can earn glowy effects later down the road.

Alright. You get two options when buying the game. 1, you can buy the CD version if you dont have a DVD player. 2, you can buy the DVD version and that wont be as many disks.

So its finally done...and am like....WHOA..its done...then i see its $25 a month.....and i start freaking out becasue WoW is only $15...Why is EQ2 so much more expensive?!?!?!

This has been addressed in above posts. You may pay $25.00 a month for like an SoE all access account, but not a standard monthly EQ2 account.

Then it gets even better! When i finally pick create character..the screen stays black for awhile...and am freaking out again! Then it says i need this "NIVIDIA GRAPHIC CARD?" and am omfg!!! Sorry to break this to you, but EQ2 has a more mature group of plays for a couple of different reasons. 1: the hardware requirements are higher, so youve got to spend a little more on your system to be able to play at a decent level. 2: The game is slightly more difficult and group oriented then WoW, and because of that, more "Adults" enjoy the game. We dont have a Barrens chat in EQ2.

So i just turn off my computer grab the EQ2 little manuel book and just started reading it. I read all the classes and races and everytime i do it mkaes me really excited and i feel my heart pounding out of my chest rdy to plzy EQ2. Its always a good idea to plan your characters out before hand. However, planning, and playing are two different things. Keep an open mind while playing, you might find something else more interesting.

Then i search online too see the epic armor and wpns they have and WOW was i disapointed!!! Look at the difference ----> common u cant compete with that lol. Am not putting EQ2 down at all, but i think they could do better lol.

Im not interested in Cartoon land. I think the comic post above fits this... Some people enjoy the armor and landscape of WoW, and they continue playing in. No one is forcing you to play EQ2. You may want to take a look at some higher level EQ2 gear, it looks pretty cool IMO.

A note on the equipment graphics differences:

Yeah, WoW went "cartoony" and EQ2 went realistic, but you're also comparing a WoW action shot to an EQ2 non-action shot. There are *lots* of cool effects on game, but for the most part they're attached to spells, actions, and buffs. Pan out during a battle, or maybe during a raid. It's spectacular!

Sorry about the video card thing. I had to upgrade when I came to EQ2 over two years ago and Vanguard won't run better than a slide show on my machine. The good news if you don't need a bleeding-edge card to play and have it look nice. My card is two years old, and sure wasn't top-of-the-line then.

10 Discs? You sure you didn't get hold of the CD version of EQ2? My EoF came with 2 DVDs, and that was the whole package. DoF and KoS included, it would appear... Granted, the update took a little while downloading, but it was a heck of a lot faster than the 2 hours of updates I had to go through with WoW...

nVidia card? Not too sure about that... I had an ATI Radeon 9250 in my desktop and an ATI Mobility in my laptop and EQ2 never even blinked. VANGUARD however... LOL

$25 a month? Sounds like you are looking at Station Access... granted, for me, that's the way to go, but not everyone needs all the options it gives you.

All in all, I tried WoW... it was nice, but I didn't like the graphics. I prefer the look and feel of EQ2, so I stuck with EQ2 and let my friends play on WoW.

Give it a chance... I think you'll find it's worth it!

If you did not look at the system req. and realize that you did not have a compatible video card then thats all your fault. EQ2 is a hell of a better game then WoW and better things tank better equipment.

To the armor/weapon thing: The EQ2 pic you supplied looks like its a low level char. standing in the middle of a low level forest. Hardly a comparison for the fancy stuff shown in thew wow(obviously set up) shot.
And in my opinion, people who play just for looks aren't a welcome addition to a mature community.
