Did y'all see this in the Test Server update notes today?

Quote:
- EoF Fabled and Legendary set piece distribution will now be based on the makeup of those who participate in the encounter.

Sweet. Good to hear. A lot of EoF NODROP pieces go to waste.

That is good to hear. It looks like they have been listening at least a little to the community.

Now that they've got the game settled down and about where they (seem to) want it, they really seem to be doing much better about that. I know when Ilucide started cleaning up Tradeskills he took and acted on a huge amount of community feedback.

I hate Paladin Drops in Inner Scantum when we have two SK's on the raid... Also, we have like no rangers in the guild, and 1 Assassin. Ranger no drop items drop a lot. Needless to say, we have a lot of adornments.

To share a little detail early... the loot changes will not eliminate loot you can't use, but it will reduce the odds of that happening. If you were to run in with a pack of Dirges... you could still pull Coercer drops... but it's less likely. I'll have more detail on it later this week, I promise!

Off topic, but to what do we owe this sudden interest in the Alla's site from an EQ2 dev? I can't say that it isn't excellent, but I have to admit that I'm definitely curious.

My only concern, possibly unfounded, is that this change will have the unintended side-effect of at least partially drying up the after market for class-specific set drops. I don't play for long enough stretches at a time to farm these items myself (I've only done Unrest once, for example, because it's only once every couple months that I can devout that kind of time at a single uninterrupted stretch to play and I can only find the time to do a group instance once a week if I'm lucky). Because of this, I fully expect that I will eventually acquire most of the Kane Bayle set almost entirely from purchasing the pieces off of other players who can't use the drops. This change could have an affect on that, making unusable drops rarer will in turn make their prices higher and take them out of my already modest budget.

Because I can. I read all these sites, it's high time I register and post when possible.

You will still see the same crap. Zerker arms, Zerker Arms, Zerker Arms, week after week, only now you may not see items for a class thats not in raid.

But the old RNG will still be in place and able to kick you in the rear week after week lol.

all I have to say is "its about bloody time we had a dev posting here". nice to be kept up-to-date from the horse's mouth, so to speak, and get more clarification about some of the updates.

Also nice to see that the devs enjoy playing EQ2 as much as developing it (one would hope, but not always the case).

I agree 100%. It is good to see they are out there instead of hiding in the shadows.

I doubt that the changes will be able to see what itesm you have already. so in a case where an SK with full Fabel gear hits an instance, SK gear that istn an upgrade my drop. In that case youll see that stuff hit broker. in a lot fo ways, you may see more stuff being sold on the broker. If it works the way I think it will, everyone will have their sets a little quicker, and then the rest will hit the broker. Anyone who can afford to buy the gear will, and then if they group and something drops that isnt an upgrade it will go back to broker. Prices will drop, and more people will be able to buy the gear.

IMO its something that should have been done a long time ago. Id also like to see multiple items dropping from master chests again. Im tired of raiding zones like Freethinkers and getting ONE fabel item, and MAYBE one Master spell. 24 people in the raid. 4-5 mobs in the zone that drop master chests, so 4-5 people a raid if your raid can clear the zone will get an upgrade after spending 2-3 hours in a zone maybe, if not longer.
