First thing I notice is a hair-do I haven't seen before. Okay, I'm a chick, I'd notice that lol. It's a really dark look, hmmm... Second thing I notice is the avatar's filename. The other ones have "fem_iksar", "druid" and obvious names indicating what they're supposed to be.
Remember around EoF launch when Tamat noticed an "Evil Fae" race type show up on EQ2Players, I think it was?

Haha go to the EQ2 forums...and i hope that the dark fae do look way different then the light fae /sigh lol...but yep their starting town is probably going to be Neriak :P
But Neriak is Fallen Gate so unless they scrap Fallen Gate isnt it impossible to "bring back" neriak?

The .xmi files are music from the eqlive music boxes (the special items from Frostfell 2005). We got .xmi music files for many eqlive zones.

Who knows how they will bring back Neriak but it's really looking like they are going to. The Tier'Dal are a very secretive and sneaky race; something big is coming and I have a feeling Innoruuk will play a big role in things to come.

It would be very easy for Neriak to be added as a zone off Fallen Gate without needing to replace it.
Or to avoid running through a dangerous area the zone could be near Fallen Gate in the Commonlands where all those Thexians have been digging around.

I saw this on the official forum yesterday and it got me really excited. I think its very plausible that Neriak could be the new city. Remember, the Fallen Gate is just part of Neriak. And now there are all these Thexians digging around... I think the zone will be reachable through Nek forest. Nek is pretty big, semi-unused zone. They could easily take out some of the lvl 19-20's and replace them with some noob content. After all it's so close to the CL you don't really need all new adventuring zones.
As long as the Arsai modle that was accidentally added at EoF launch was a place holder and not the real thing lol because why just make a fae...that looks the same but has darker skin :P
Seems really really lazy to me as a "new race". Just...like, "Wow! It's a fae with different colors and bad hair!" There really better be something else to it.

Well, there was a lot of stink from the Evils about no new evil race with EoF. Many of them had pegged their hopes on Sarnak or something else in Kunark, but despaired having to wait. And if you get right down to it, there really is no appreciable difference between the races except looks. An Iksar, essentially, is just a hairless Kerra....
So Grimwell posted the GU 34 preview, no mention of the race. I am officially putting my money on end of May for the introduction of this (admittedly hypothetical) new race.

I do also hope that the Arsai/Dark Fae will looks distinctive from the Kelethin Fae, not just with darker hair/skin color. Something different, maybe with bat-wings and fangs or something like that.

I agree they seriously need to do something other than just different colouring for these 'dark fae'. Different wings would be a nice touch.
But personally I am disappointed that it seems this will be the new evil race - we haven't had one from the start despite the introduction of Frogloks and Fae for the good races. And now it seems we will only be offered a rehash of an existing race.
And if they do come from Neriak as supposed, which has been underground all these centuries, then why do they need such big wings? Surely in underground tunnels they'd be a nuisance...

I hope if there is a new race that it isnt a evil fae race...how stupid would that be? I think eq2 got enough cuteses with fae with EoF, any more cute I would have to play WoW to brush off the pink my little ponies effect of the fae race. If RoK has a new race, it be cool to have something that you would see come from the lands of Kunark. But I think eq2 has enough races to fit a wide vareity of people. What would be nice is 1 or 2 "new" classes.

I would personally rather have no new evil race than to have "evil" fae introduced. That's like Evil-Lite. Diet Evil. Though I do admit that bat style wings as opposed to butterfly wings would be pretty snazzy.
The big question is if Neriak will be aggro to Tier`Dal or Shadowknights. I'd hope it wouldn't be, but I imagine that a lot of high elf players out there would be mighty pissed off if it wasn't.

Not that it matters what I say, but I would much rather see one or two new classes as opposed to a new race. I, and many others, would love to see the return of the beastlord. Man, do I miss that class.

bringing back the beastlord would work better with Ruins of Kunark though.
