I know this is kind of a noob questions for me, but im a little confused.

In EQ1 Haste items didnt stack. It woudl take your highest level haste item and add that to a spell haste buff.

In EQ2 is it the same, or do Hastes stack?

Im wanting to knwo because my current helm has 18 points of haste, but im working on the cloak of flames that will add another 24 points. Would that add up? or just take the cloaks 24?

I know my AA's and spells stack with it, but wanted to know it the items alone stacked.

This is my understanding of how it works:

There are 3 types of haste; innate, item, and spell-based (buffs). They stack independently with each other, but two of the same type do not stack (whichever is higher is applied).

So for example: Scenario 1 - You have haste gloves (item), a coercer casting velocity on you (spell-based), and you've spent a few points in a haste AA (innate). These all combine.

Scenario 2 - You have haste gloves, haste boots, a coercer casting velocity on you and you have a few points in a haste AA. They still all combine, except the gloves and the boots. Whichever one of those two is higher will override the other (in your specific situation, the cloak would take precedence over your helm).

There may be a fourth type, song haste from the bard classes, but I'm not sure if it applies in EQ2 or if they count it as spell-based haste. In EQ1 it was a 4th type that was stackable with the others.

yeah, so EQ1 rules. bummer.

Ive got my AA haste and Item haste. spell haste is easy to come by, I was just looking forward to two items stacking.

well, i do know that its not just 1 haste from spell-based in general.
for example, if u have 2 toubs in same group both using haste buff, they wont stack, but if u have 1 troub and a illusionist (coercer's velocity actually increases DPS, not haste btw) casting haste buff, then the toub and illusionist buff both stack, im pretty sure it just depends on which classes u get the buff from. different classes = stack

songs, spells, and items all stack.

However... two items wont stack. The higher haste item will rule over. Just like the higher level song will rule, and the higher level spell will rule over.

DPS buffs from what I understand, will stack somewhat. Assassins have a self buff, and it stacks with Other spell DPS buffs. I think Haste is the only one that doesnt stack.
