My warden can't solo... help?Follow

#1 Mar 30 2007 at 3:18 PM Rating: Decent
Hey guys!

Okay, I'm terrible with the numbers as far as EQ goes, but I do know that I really suck at soloing.
HEALTH: 3,201
POWER: 3,550
ATTACK: 710
MITIGATION: 1631
AVOIDANCE: 2845
RUN: 35%

I know that I need to get up my mitigation and DEFINATELY my attack as well. Any ideas on how to do that?

Thanks in advance! :)

To get up mitigation get armour with the highest mitigation you can.

Priests aren't AS effective soloing as some other classes. This doesn't mean we can't do it, though!

If you're running solo, make sure that your armour and your spells are as upgraded as you can make them. You'd be surprised how much difference it makes having your spells even at app IV over app I.

I don't recommend blowing all your cash on either of these things as you'll end up outgrowing it quickly. App IV is fine (Adept I if they drop for you!).

The other thing to keep in mind, don't bite off more than you can chew. A blue ^^^ will probably chew you up and spit you out... Your specific tactics will differ from mine, but you can do it :)

Good luck!

I am puzzled, My Warden Solo's just fine at 51, Whites are fairly easy, and I can take down a heroic blue. Does this change in latter game.

What I will say is I have no spells under APP3 and most are masters. I have strong gear based on wis and Int. the int is important as it controls the amount of damage your spells do.

I solo mostly, though do enjoy grouping I have some days when my reflexs are not up to grouping so I solo. Maybe because I solo so much, I am either used to it and know how not to get killed or my skills are maxed on hand to hand and defence or maybe its just my spells are so high they make the differnce. When all your spells are that high it helps.

So how do I afford such things... Harvesting... I harvest when I solo, good for a couple plat worth of rares every couple days. with that, its easy to get better gear and spells.

Now I am unsure if 52 to 70 becomes impossible to solo, I doubt it.

I keep my spells as high as I can get em, then worry about my gear. true they cycle, but then I am buying upgrades for the others.

My gear is nice too, get all the cool stuff when I do group and stomp around in a dungeon.

Not worrying about your spell level seems foolish, thats like running your warden at 25% efficiency

Your spells are everything, to you and your group.

but that is my opinion, I am a far cry from an expert.

But I will say I kick some baddy butt :) and have allot of fun doing it too

I soloed a warden most of the time from lvl1 - lvl70 (and a fury into the 50s) so I can say from experience that given the right preperations it's not just doable, it's pretty easy!

Some things to be aware of are:

1) Keep your spells current and at the very best quality you can afford. ad1 is the bare minimum here - ad3 or even master are a must for anything you intend to use in almost every fight. (like nukes and single target heals)

2) Keep your armor current. Upgrade every ten levels and augment by going after specific quest rewards or scanning the broker for good deals. I went with a full set of master-crafted every time I hit a new "two" level (32, 42, 52 etc) and then upgraded throughout the tier whenever I found something I could use.

3) Keep your weapon upgraded (as #2 above). I tended to go with a new augmented, master-crafted 2 hander every time I hit a new "two" level. (some druids prefer a one-hander and shield... I don't! I want the most dmg for each swing!)

4) Don't forget about Jewelery! you'll get a lot of nice bonuses to both wis and int by carefully choosing your jewelery and keeping it upgraded whenever you change tiers.

5) strategy - you'll need to play your warden/fury different than you would play other characters... even other healers. Here's something to consider; always be ready to take a hit - your heals are HoT (heal over time) and they can take a while to bring you back into the green so get in the habit of dropping your first heal a little sooner. This is yet another reason to make sure your armor is top notch. It will increase your overall health and let you take more damage before you dip down into the orange.
