Noticed a Population IncreaseFollow

#1 Mar 22 2007 at 8:16 PM Rating: Decent
Is it just me or do we have a population increase on our hands? I may have eaten a few too many paint chips lately but I swear when i logged in this past week or so there were alot more toons than normal. I don't know if this is from the way too early release of Vanguard or people are finally realizing how boring WoW is (my opinion not everyone else's. So no need to start a flame thread) or what but when i logged on this afternoon at around 10 a.m. there were alot of people. I was even able to get a group together to finally finish Haddens. 10 minutes after we were done another group was forming for Hadden's. That quest had been sitting in my quest log forever and I hadn't been able to get a group together for that in months. So anyone else's opinion on the population increase. So I know if i'm just seeing stuff. If it is an increase good for us. If it isn't guess it's time to actually clean my monitor.

Hopefully it's a population increase...a population increase in a MMORPG is always a good sign.

MMO population fluxes constantly. Yeah, new releases always have an effect, but so do other things like school schedules and holidays.

So WoW released an expansion (old WoW players went to play that, then beat it and came back), Vanguard released (folks went to play that, some stayed and some came back; I noticed a lot of folks made their decision one way or another this week), next LOTR Open Beta, then LOTR launch (no matter what Beta reviews are, we'll see some folks check it out).

Then school lets out for the summer, and the high school and college attendees will be on their favorite a while (hint: send anyone you know who's not playing a link to Play the Fae!)

And the circle turns :)

Have you heard bad reviews? My beta review is it's a fun and unique game that evolves the MMO treadmill paradigm, and it's the cleanest beta I've ever been in.

Nope, haven't heard a lot one way or the other. That was a very generic statement.
