Will Rise of Kunark be the next EverQuest II expansion or is SOE trying to fool us?

Dunno. I read somewhere that the last expansion was leaked the same way. I assume the area included is somehow reated to EQ1?

I just started so I'm still trying to get through the nub areas, haven't had much opportunity to experience the other three expansions.

I don't know why they would want to trick us. The theme of a Rise of Kunark expansion is very plausible given the success of EoF.

Last time they pushed out their advertising info immediately after the EoF name was leaked, which sort of burned them because some of the things they touted as features, or the way they described them were not what actually happened in the release. I bet they learned their lesson and are being tight lipped and ignoring the leak this time to make sure they know exactly what they're adding to the game before they market it.

(The link to the trademark search is from your session, so it doesn't work for others. You can search for Rise of Kunark using the link on the page that loads.)

Hopefully it won't include a level increase although I imagine that is too much to ask for.

My thought is that it pretty much has to include a lvl cap bump. There are many people that have been lvl 70 for about a year or how ever long it has been since KoS came out. One suggestion I saw on another site was that they could slow xp gain after a certain lvl to a creep. I believe that people will leave in droves w/o that goal of grinding to drive them. AAs dont make that big of an impact and loot hunting gets old after a few months also. On a positive note I do hope they bring back more gods. I would like to see the Trixster(sp?).

I really hope that kunark is comming out next it would be awsome to see places like dreadlands and sebilis come back. I think SoE loves how excited everyone is over the new expansion I dont think i've seen this many rumors and excitement for an expansion by SoE in a long time. Hopefully within the next few months SoE will officially announce the expansion.

while i am surprised at another one so quickly (for some reason i think i read somewhere that it would be august, but i was probably dreaming at the time) i doubt they are trying to fool us. would they delay it? most likely hehe. but when i remember eq1 it doesnt seem that the expansions were that far apart after all. not to mention kunark remained popular with the eq1 generation. unfortunately with the launch i cant see us getting cabalis and fironia vie both, unless they turn it like kelethin and tunaria. one a hunting zone the other our city. in which case, cabalis FTW hehe.

Yeah I hope there is no level increase in the next expanison. More content and more soloable mobs and more named mobs who are heroic ^ or ^^ would be great. But I sure hope Kunark is the next continent, I hated Velious. If they keep the terrain up to date to what happened in the rest of Norrath, I bet Lake of Ill Omen is now a sea or strait sepearting the continent into two. Fironia Vie would probably be ruins if its not underwater, and if its not in ruins it probably would be overrun by the Droag. But anyways...I would love to see Kunark soon.

I also noticed that there is a website www.riseofkunark.com which seems very unusual.

I'm personally stoked that Kunark is going to be the theme of the next xpac. I remember reading somewhere on the official forums that Kunark got practically shredded and burned (Bye bye forests) by the Cataclysms(sp?). So i'm think there will be more boat rides. :/

As for content I hope we'll see that "evil-lovin" the devs said we'd get and I also hope we get a raise in the level cap. I'm really bored of being 70 and alts are boring too. Besides, there's a ton of mid-level content already. How bout a noob zone, 1 - 10, and maybe a tier 2 zone then shoot up to 68+ zones.
