Enemy Mastery Spell - Why Don't I Have It?Follow

#1 Mar 19 2007 at 1:39 PM Rating: Decent
Hi Y'All :)

I am completely new to EQII and I have been having a blast trying out different chars to play. My highest one is a fae pally, 9th lvl. I was looking over the spells and skills for the pally and I noticed that at 5th level the pally gets Enemy Mastery Spell, either orcs or undead, but my pally doesn't have it. Have I missed something? Is it because of my race? Will I get it later? Was this spell taken out?

Please help!

A few patches ago they changes how Mastery skills worked, and thus removed the those spells that are level given. To gain those skills now, you must complete the Lore and Legend quests scattered throughout the world.

Thanks for your quick reply!

OK so now how do I go about getting these Lore and Legends quests? In the meantime, those orcs are just going to have to die slowly, much more slowly, heh heh heh

I tend to use this site ( http://www.crystallyne.net/eq2/landl.pdf ) as a source for a few different things such as L&L, and heritage quests.

Honestly I think the change was a good one. I just started a Fae and at first I was sad about the change as she has a few master strikes. Now after a bit of time to play with the new system I love it. My fae has a ton of master strikes done and has way more then she could have under the old system. My Illusionist is my old main and she only had the ones her levels allowed her to have. By level 33 my Fae is way ahead in the master department(L&L masters) over my Illusionist.

I can see the good and the bad with this. First thing that comes to mind is how difficult some of the mastery spells we used to get at low levels are to get at low levels. For example the Skeliton and Zombie Mastery spellbooks are not exactly easy to get pre level 20 to 25ish. Used to of course you could jsut group with a high level and waltz right in and grab them, but thanks to a nerf a long time ago that don't work anymore.

I would have just assume seen them left it alone. I have noticed since I returned to the game ALOT of changes I don't like. For starters they made betrayal a huge pain in the *** for low level charactors. I had started it at low level since before you had to be under 17 to do it. Now I find out you gotta do a crapload of annoying rewardless/exp-less faction quests amoung other things to betray. They even took out the best part of betraying which was getting to see the leader of the city woop you!

I also have noticed spawn changes in pretty much every zone. Running through Nek is alot more painful at lower levels thanks to the KOS fish in the river.

Of course I have to say there is some changes that I welcome such as not having to join a tradeskill zone to enter it, removing subcombines from tradeskills, removing shard runs, and a couple of other things.

I guess I went abit off topic but umm yea.
