Good Morning, AllaK's - 3/12/07Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

Well I feel like a total tool. Today someone linked 'Infernal Circle', Master I to one of the channels I lurk in an attempt to sell it. Now, Infernal Circle is the Shadowknight L58 defensive stance. I'm looking through my book to see if I need the upgrade when I notice that...holy crap..I've been using the L40-something defensive stance this entire time. I never knew there was a defensive stance upgrade that I didn't have. HoF. Unrest. Labs. All of it. I tank everything successfully, but how much easier would it all have been had I been using a defensive stance that wasn't two tiers old? How much lost healer mana is that over time? On the other hand, I was probably already one of the top...we'll say 3 sexiest tanks on the server. And that was while using an inferior defensive stance. Think about that. Damn. Now I'll just be ridiculous, right? Well the guy wanted 30p for it so I couldn't actually buy it. I ended up snagging an alkali loam and having an Alchy make me an Adept III which is good enough for now considering what I was using before.

After that little revelation one of my long-lost guild pals logged in. He had never been to Faydwer so I mentored down to him (low 50's-ish) and too him on a quick tour. Threw a group together and tore through CoI. Dinged the guildie and I got a rack of AA as I'd never killed all those named before while they weren't grey so bonus for me. After that we ran through the Mines of Meldrath. My pal got a couple nice upgrades out of the afternoon so that is good. Finally we both ran through the Fae language quest real fast (I didn't realize I hadn't done it). I dropped him off in LFay so that he could get started on all the quest lines there. Good times.

How was your weekend?

The game is set up so any one item has only a negligible effect on your overall performance. That's to keep people from gimping themselves and avoid the "required" gear syndrome that FFXI has.

Vanguard will let you go your merry way completely gimping yourself, but it has ways to rectify your bad decisions. For example there is a cap on all weapon skills so you can't max every weapon in the game. If you find an uber weapon you have no skill in and your weapon skills are capped you can set one skill for another weapon type to decrease so you can get back capped skill points to re-use for the new weapon.

I made strawberry jam this weekend :)

Just when I thought I had all the equipment sets in our db, I stumbled across another one! That'll probably be "normal" for a while, I think. Meanwhile, I finished the primary solo quest line in LFay and I'm getting ready to get that all in the db and hooked up.

My Woodworker made mad money this weekend, mostly on T7 Adornments. Spendy hobby tho, I put easily half what I make back into materials. That might be different if I actually got to do more than solo content!

Good evening.

Having a blast playing. Trying to decide between Alchemy/Chemistry? and Jewel. About to log in for a while and grind some more tradeskill exp. I did a whole lot of gathering last night so I have a ton of maple, tuber, electrum etc.

I can't believe I wasted time playing WoW, would have been better spent here. Smiley: grin

I have to totally agree with you Paskil.
This has been a whole new experience for me with EQ2 and it's been all good. I'm up to lvl 14 and enjoying every bit. I played WOW for a year and half and felt I was missing depth in the game. EQ2 has been very pleasing to play.

Haven't posted in the last couple days, so I'll update here :)

Had a busy and fun weekend working on a few of my alts. Spent a bit of time upgrading the equipment on my Illusionist, Dirge and Defiler. Then worked on leveling 2 of them. Got my dirge to 53 and my Illusionist to 19, fun times...as well as a slew of AAs.

Ran a successful MOA4 raid on Friday night, and got 17 guildmates and friends their Fabled neckpieces (including my Inquisitors..ya!). Got the raid dps up to around 18500 on the final Guardian...was super nice. It barely got off a second AOE.

Did a DT raid on Sunday, and gave Tarinax a swift beatdown. Had it FRAPS'd too, so that was great. I was tanking with a Guardian...honestly, SKs look super sweet tanking. I had never watched a Vid with my toon in it before. Think we are going to do it more often....think Freethinkers tonight :)

Ran a labs named run on Monday for my guild. They are getting a lot stronger, so I was very happy. We stopped right at Zatrack's hall, but only due to time constraints. We started a bit late, but were steamrolling things up to that point.

The rest of the week was just fun times...lotsa instances and guild groupage...and I finally broke down and bought a War Barded Cavalry Horse. It is the first horse I ever bought with any of my toons...monumental. I always went for gear and upgrades first, but I gave in finally as my last upgrades are not as pressing anymore. I always had the motto...do I want to ride over in style and get clubbed to death...or glide over on a carpet and shine lol. Anyway, was big news for me :)
