anything with decent damage/mana or deaggro procs go for. For the most part, side with nice procs before you side with slightly higher stats. You can do quests to get Grizzlefazzles mage staff and the bone-girdle clasp. Two really nice dmg procs. I would take nice proc gear over the new temporal forsight wizard set. Atleast until you get 3 - 5 of the peices, they are just massive stat giving gear. 5 peices get +8% to crit though...thats pretty damn nice.

Breathe of the Destroyer or Draco hat from Labs
Sol Ro cloak w/ +3 power regen adornment
Resplendant Scapulars or Mantle of Clarvoyance (sp?)
Acumen forearms from Fitzpizle or Insulated Sleeves from clockwork or forearms from Nizara
Bloodsoaked from HoS or Gloves of Sagacity from FTH
Pani's Robe, Gown of Glory, robe from PHH or the avatar robe (forgot names)
legs from Cruor (again forgot the name)
