Assasin returning after a year - help pleaseFollow

#1 Mar 01 2007 at 3:02 AM Rating: Decent
Hello Everyone

I just got back after a year or a bit more and have to say it is nice to be back hehe ;-)
I have to say that soooo many things have changed that it is hard to find myself in the new world.
I have a question to all of the people playing scout class.
When in combat I remember I used to be able to backstab then use one ability to shock them for a while (cheap shot?) enabling me to stealth and stab them once again - I cant do it now. Seems that cheap shot is greyed out and cant use it in combat anymore. I am level 30
Any ideas?

Assassins still have a back stab, but darned if I remember the name. They took out the class progression (Scout, Rogue, etc) so Cheap Shot might be gone, but check your Knowledge Book, there will be something else (Cheap Shot is a stun, btw).

Basically, here's what I'd do: empty all your hot bars.
Reload them form the Knowledge Book, examining EVERYTHING.
Play the toon like you'd just bought it, lol.

And WB!

Actually, yes! Especially if he hasn't played since before LU 13, the Combat Revamp. Play it like it's an all new game you know nothing about.

Thanks for help guys.

I have to mention one thing if they removed a stun from assasin class then how the hell can I play solo? I mena I dont do it too often but sometimes I like to just wander around and kill random mobs or do some harvesting and then I need means to defend myself - If I cant stun my enemy I cant re-stealth myself and that means I cant backstab during that fight making my assasin useless...

Kinda sad.

Please read again what I said. They removed the class trees. So you may have a stun, but it may not be the Cheap Shot that you had a year ago.

For example, Bards no longer get Pathfinding, which all scouts used to get. Bards now get Selo's. So if I was just coming back my Pathfinding button would be dead.

Take a look at your Knowledge book :) I understand your distress, my Troubadour also uses the stun-run-backstab technique, but unless you've checked every single spell in your knowledge book, you may be panicking prematurely.

Disclaimer: I don't have an Assassin to verify this one way or the other. Anyone?

Hmm mJust to make sure make sure I got it right - there are is no more class/subclass progression? So a person no more starts as a warrior and then gets to a berzerker but starts as a lvl 1 zerker?

Correct. When you go to the character create screen now, you get to choose your "final" class from the get-go! So in your case, if you were starting a brand new character today, you wouldn't start out with a scout and then become a predator at lvl ten and then an assassin at lvl 20... you would choose to be an assassin at lvl one.
