Hi there!

I just ordered the game, apparently it comes with the first expansion only (Desert of Flame or something similar)I will probably upgrade with other expansions later on.

Now, I´ve been playing MMOs for a few years, and for some odd reason I always tend to go hardcore at it, in Guild Wars I have 2 charrs in obsidian armor, and 5 more in 15 plat armor, ranked up pvp wise and then just burned out on it. In WoW Ive downed 6 bosses in naxxramas with my guild, I have one lvl 70 only atm, 4 lvl 60s and several in the 50+ range, I levelled up in TBC and then just thought "Whats the point", enter EQ2:

I will probably aim for end game pve content, Im gonna join a european pvp server - I like the fact that I can get ganked whenever Im out questing. Now - I will most certainly roll some kind of druid, just because I loved the way my druid worked in WoW - Not the best at anything, but still with the ability to do loads of stuff in one charr, here is my concerns:

Is druids in EQ2 assigned the role of secondary healbot period in EQ raiding?

I´ve read that druids can shapeshift in EQ2 as well - Does it work in similar ways as in WoW - Meaning you take on vastly different roles depending on what you shapeshift into?

Will I be able to gear up my charr decent enough to fit into a endgame raidingguild once I ding out at max level? Or is it like in WoW - The raidingguilds over time become an elite class of ubergeared players who mostly swap members between them, and very few new players gets the chance to even join (due to the inferior gear they got access to)

That´s about it I guess :P - Im looking forward to venture into this new game world.
Cya around

Oh, no worries - found most of my answers in the priest section of these fine forums, here I was thinking "why dont they set up forums for each class" :-s

Welcome to what probably is the best MMORPG on the market at the moment. As you said you found most info already, both wardens and furys are good healing classes with good solo skills. You will probably be happy with either of them. Another healing class that is a bit rarer is defiler (Evil shaman) although they have less solo ability than the druids. As for equipping yourself you will do very well on what you can quest and buy at the broker at least into well into your 50s, after that it changes a little. As for raiding most healing classes does healing and curing varoius ailments, thats basically it, some debuffing from classes with those skills too of course, but no healing class is taken into the raid to DPS.

I do not know much about the end game raiding guilds but read the official forums and see their "wanted" posts, so far I have not seen any gear requirements, its more what class you play and when you can play. But if you solo alot you will suffer as many of the quests that has better rewards requires a group to finish some even a small raid so finding a good guild is important if you want to gear up. Also the quests gives good experience and items for your level.

If you go PVP read the official forums I think I remember the players on the european PvP server are very unhappy because that server has a very low population. Also try several things out you get a good feel for you class before you ding 20, and its easy to delete and reroll, you have 4 char slots try out several servers too.

From your name it looks like you are scandinavian (Swedish here), there is a strong european community on the RP server Antonia Bayle, but then you should be somewhat into role playing to fit in.

Sigtyr 56 Mystic of the Secret Keepers on Antonia Bayle.
