Getting to EverfrostFollow

#1 Feb 14 2007 at 5:20 AM Rating: Decent
Hi all,
my Paladin has leveled enough to explore Everfrost (I hope!), but the only way I can find to get there, by the bell on TS dock, leads to a dock which isn't connected to Everfrost itself.
Looks like I have to swim, then look for a way through the mountains...

Before I rust my armor - and did I mention there are sharks in the water? Heroic sharks, no less.. - is there another way to get there? Without getting wet? :-)
According to this site, Everfrost is supposed to be Lvl 35 to 45 or so... I can hardly believe lvl 35 adventurers got past these 40+ heroic sharks.

Probably I'm missing something... help?

You are going to have to swim. The dock is on an island in the middle of the beginning of EF. When you zone in, you will find a cave to your right that leads to the larger part of the zone and, to your left, you will find the other part of the zone. Both ways require a swim in the brisk waters of EF, but I wouldn't worry too much about the heroic sharks. I thought the same exact thing as you when I first zoned in. I jumped in expecting the worst but to my surprise they didn't even bother me. The one thing I learned in EF is that mobs have a very VERY small aggro range. You can almost walk up and touch them and they will not aggro on you, even if they are aggressive.

So don't worry. Jump in and swim. If you do catch aggro from the sharks, try to get on land as quickly as possible, even if it's just a tootsie. The sharks will deaggro immediately.

Thank you Mearyk, that was very helpful! So I'll pack my swimming trunks (or rather: wetsuit.. that water looks cold! :-) and it's off to Everfrost we go, hihooooo....

Just one caution: There is a Epic shark that swims these waters and its aggro area is much larger then the heroics. I found out when he ate my Templar for lunch and then again for dinner.

QFT. I couldn't even make it to the island 5 feet away. The good thing, though, is that he is a triggered spawn. You must initiate the quest with Seth McMannus in order to pop Dreadwake. The bad news is that he will remain up until he is killed. Just watch out when you go to the west side of EF. If he's up, he will be swimming the channel between the last island before the main land and the main land.

Everfrost was always one of my favorite zones in EQ Live. I have visited a couple of times to kill sharks for writs but not much beyond that. I have recently been going there more often and love what they have done to the place. The special affects of the wind blowing the snow is awesome. But I think my favorite part is when I am battling those big mammoths. Every time one of them tosses me into the air and I go sailing I have to laugh. Then to watch the silly beast run between me and my pet while all the time being hit wtih AE is hilarious.

I just want to say thanks to the developers for all the fun.

Getting eaten by Dreadwake is part of the Eq2 experience.
