I dont know what I should do, woodworking or alchemy! Im a Wood Elf Ranger so naturally I'm thinking wood, but maybe potions are useful too...HELP!

Whichever of those two you choose to do you'll still need the other as well, as a woodworker, you'll be able to make your own bows and arrows. Also totems and a varietty of other items. As an alchemist, you'll be able to craft your own potions but more important, your own poisons.

Your best bet would be to make an alt to handle the crafting option you don't choose for your main. A crafting mule will let you have both those bases covered... Course you'll still need weapons... and armor... and spell upgrades... and...

I always recommend picking a tradeskill class you enjoy. Alchemist might be handy, but if you try it and discover you just despise working at the Alchemy workstation, you'll be miserable.

You can even pick a class unrelated to your Adventuring class. Join your local Crafting channel (Qeynos_Crafting or Freeport_Crafting), you meet lots of nice folks and other artisans you can buy or barter with for your needs.
