Hi all, here's somewhat of a newbie question... I have been playing a necromancer up to 27 and feel I would like to explore some more. Everyone in game that I ask doesn't seem to know the answer so to you you allaks, how can I get from the Commonlands to Antonica?

Few ways to do it
head to the commonlands kos portal if you have expansion go up and come back down to the antonica side.
Have a wiz/lock port you there
go to east freeport docks buy a ticket go to thundering steppes then run to antonica
once you harvest the druid bushes can have a druit port you thee

Commonland -> Nektulos Forest -> Thunderring Steppes -> Antonica

I remember doing that before the griffin towers where built and everything in Nektulos was aggro. Fun times.
oh, you think that was fun? remember the old betrayal quests? when you had to be 14-18 to start, and had to go to CL (if betraying to FP) or Ant (if betraying to Qeynos) while below 20. The run thru Nek was REALLY fun then, especially if you within the lower part of that range (14 or 15), like I usually was. now THAT was fun :-P

Is the KoS portal the large purple thing near the willowisps?

They are huge spires with a NPC nearby. Hail him and you will get a teleportation shard. Every 5 minutes, the gate opens and you will be ported. Then, when you get to Teneberous Tangle, just click the portal you appear in front of and choose to go to Antonica.
I did the betrayal at 15. I had a very useful printed out guide. Through Nek it was a nightmare but I followed the path and ran without stopping. Once I got to know the areas I thought about the path and I believe there are much easier ways to go.
For the OP the best path is the boat ticket from the Harbor Master in East Freeport. That puts you on the Thundering Steppes dock. At lvl 27 it shouldn't be too difficult to run through the Steppes. From the docks head straight out to the first break in the hills on your right and follow that road. You should get an update for the road. Follow the road to the next break in the hills on your right. Take the road in front up you north. It winds around some fiels and craters so stay on the road. Keep heading dure north past a few NPCs and you will see the gate into Antonica.
