Good morning, AllaK's - 1/30/07Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

Uneventful evening. Spent the night cleaning out grey quests on all of my toons as that was all I really had time for before 24 started.

I've noticed lately that I've started to shift back into a questing mode of play. I seem to go through play-style phases. I will go a couple months doing non-stop single-group instances every chance I get. Then all of a sudden I'll stop and go into a period where I solo grind for several weeks, not for an inability to find a group, but for a general disinterest in grouping at the time. Then I'll completely flip and raid nightly for a week straight. Then I'll decide "quest time" and that's all I'll focus on for a month. Other folks, like Chimp or Ktok for example, seem to do real well at mixing things up and having variety in their day to day activities in-game. For me it seems like an all-or-nothing on one aspect of gameplay for large sets at a time before a change to a completely different playstyle. Does anyone else experience this?

As a side note, I want to slap anyone in 24 that asks Jack Bauer "Are you sure?". I mean, after what he has pulled off for the 5 seasons prior to this, you'd think that at this point if Jack said, "Quick! I need 2 dead hookers, some Crisco and a puppy! We're running out of time!" that nobody would argue with him and just do what he says. He's mother$%#*in' Jack Bauer!

How was your evening?

I definitely get into that routine Stugein. I will harvest for a week straight and then tradeskill like there's no tomorrow. After I get finished with that, I will go out and quest or work on writs and HQ's. Usually, I log in with one thing in mind at a time. I hardly ever craft, quest and group in a single night. It's one and that's it. I completely understand what you mean.

Last night found me in my harvesting mode. I swore I wouldn't go to bed until I found a rare. Well, that was a big mistake. Four hours later I had to settle for a piddly luminous flower as my one rare for the night. Sleep would not be denied any longer.

And I agree with your Jack Bauer statement. For Bob's sake, the man almost suffocated his own brother. He should never be questioned...period.

One thing's for sure, thats an episode I don't want to miss...

Seriously though, if he could get access to the team from "The Unit", Jack, etc. al wouldn't need 24 hours to solve the problem...

almost is the opperative word there... I think he'll end up doing a lot worse to his snivelling sibling once he finds out just how involved the boy was in the previous day's evil doings...

But regarding EQ2... logged on to my 70 warden for a run through The Obelisk of Blight, followed by a Nest run. No decent drops (for me), although the ranger did pretty well and I have a vested interest in her success! All things considered, not a bad few hours...

I have been sick haven't gotten much done the last couple days, I am sure my guild thinks I'm nuts with loging in and disapearing a couple minutes later,I call it the revolving door syndrom. When I have been on it as been to check my item up for sale and to harvest a bit.

P.S.

Love the Jack Bauer statement it is so true, the show just keeps getting better, and when will the learn NOT to question Jack I mean they almost blew up the wrong man.

It was a frustrating day. I got in on the 2nd WORST RAID EVER. 5 deaths, with a 2.8% debt, in less than 15 min. This after waiting over an hour for the raid to form. The healers were listless, and a lot of people needed to learn how to read. For example, loot rules were spelled out 3 times! "Who's MT?" asked at least 5... It's my own stupidity for not seeing myself out before that even started. Oh well. Live and learn.

could have been worse... someone might have asked "what's an MT???"

My favorite raid badness ever…

Leader “So and so, you’re MA”

MA “OK”

Raid, all together “Target, MA! We need a target! TARGET!”

MA “Huh?”

After the fight and a death or two…

Leader “Have you ever MAed before?”

MA “No.”

Leader “…do you know what one is?”

MA “Not really”

Laeder “OK well first you need to make an assist macro…”

MA “What’s a macro?”

I died a little inside that night…

Anyways, my 30th was entirely consumed with installing Vista. The job was done, it’s pretty darned neat, and a 64 Bit OS definitely make my dualcore quite a bit happier.

I'm pretty new to EQII myself but from my experience from EQ1, MA was Main Assist. People would click on you then hit the assist hot key and your target would switch from the MA to whatever the MA person is targetting.

Oddly enough I spent a ton of time in the maj'dul arena yesterday. Guess its cause im a die-hard FPS player, why I love maj'dul arena so much. Its interesting atmosphere but, sometimes a 6v6 off all these random classes can turn into a stun fest. Ohhh how it sucks to be a wizard and have 3 people on another team see you. I think the arena is a bit more exciting with 2v2's - picking nice complimenting and fair teams. It's kind of too bad enough people arn't into it because if it was much more organized I think it could be alot of fun. Oh and scouts = damn near Gods of the arena. Was interesing to just verse some mobs for a few hours that actually have brains. =)

I drank the coolaid. I went out and got vanguard. Ives got to admit that its is umm...

Well. Seemless Zonning like WoW. Questing and such like EQ2 and EQ1. Game play and leveling very similar to EQ1. It takes a long time to level without the vitality of EQ2. lol. But its fun. The graphics kind of suck, but EQ1 did as well. Ohhh. And buffs are like EQ1. None of this, I can onyl buff group members things. You can buff anyone. So thats nice.

Check out my profile in my sig. The character is "Lown Star"
