Check this screenshot, if you look at the bottom right of it, you have the compass (this can be located elsewhere in your UI, could be in the center top of the screen). If you hover over the compass with your cursor, it will show the coordinates of where you are now.

Usually, only the first and the last set of the coordinates matter, the second one involves height. But on occasion, you have to consider all three numbers to find the correct spot.

Another nifty trick that you can use is the waypoint system. If you have a set of coordinates, you can get yourself a shiny "yellow brick road" right to the destination.

In your chat bar type the following:

/waypoint 162, -4, 53

It will then tell you "Your destination lies somewhere to the southeast" and a glowing trail will appear to lead you to the spot. In this instance, the middle number is very important.

you can also input the numbers into a spot at the bottom of the map window and then click to enter them. Using this function will create a golden trail for you to follow and also place a flashing white X on the map at that location.

The most common use I have found for this function is to copy a set of coordinates from the write up of a given quest and paste them into the map window in order to be led right to a specific mob or NPC.

1) playing in windowed mode, minimize the game and open your browser to a game site.
2) navigate to the page with the quest info you need
3) highlight the coordinates given in the quest writeup and hit cntrl + C to copy the highlighted data into Windows buffer
4) minimize the web browser window and maximize the game window
5) open your map window (M key) and click youor mouse in the rectangular box at the bottom of the window
6) with a flashing cursor in the box, hit cntrl + V to paste the data from the buffer intoi the map window
7) mouse click on the little icon to the right of the box where the coordinates are now sitting

BAM! your white X and golden trail should now be available

BTW - always close the map window with the M key since closing the window by clicking the mouse close button can kill the golden trail (at least it has for me!)
