Best solo class in your opinionFollow

#1 Jan 26 2007 at 12:10 PM Rating: Decent
First of all, I apologize if this topic has already been addressed but the search engine was not working unless I wanted to search all forums for all games. That is the only thing that worked.

I was just wondering what the best solo class in your opinion was. I am the type of player that a lot of people hate, I am sure, because I like to try out different classes so I have a lot of characters around level 20ish, but unfortunately with the 6 character limit in EQ2, I can't do that.

Thanks for the info!

I'm a bit green to post a biased opinion.. but in my experience in MMORPG's.. no class is the "best". There are people out there still with "talent" or just a bit too much time on their hands, who can figure out a strategy for just about any situation.

Anyways.. I'm like you.. I like to pick the "underdog" class and see how far I can go with it. I just created a Defiler for the same purpose. Now, my "purposes" may be different than yours. For example.. I play on a PvP server.. if you're talking about just doing quests and such.. I'm sure somebody else will have a more informative and helpful answer for you. XD

IT really depends on your definition of "Best Solo'er."The list of above average solo'er in my opinion would be:

Fury
Necromancer
Conjurer
Brigand
*Wizard

But they all have their different ways of soloing. It's really a question of "How do YOU want to solo?"

Fury's have the best survivability of the above with heals but their DPS isn't up there with the others so it takes a bit longer to kill things.

The Summoners (Necro/Conj) have the added ability of the pet to act as a Tank while they blast from afar. They're a bit quicker in killing things but things get risky once their pet dies. Also Necromancers are better against single targets and Conjurers fair a bit better against groups.

Brigands and Wizards are all about getting the fights over with ASAP taking as little damage as possible.Since they have to take the beating themselves and without no way to heal themselves they have the lowest survivability of the above.Wizards haven their roots and freezes to keep the mobs at bay while the Brigand has a few knockdown/stuns and quick killing moves.

So its really up to you which you think it the best soloing class, depending how you want to play.

For me I find anything with a pet tends to be the easiest to solo. It is like adding a second health bar to your survivability.

All depends on your criteria for "best"? The classes in this game are very well balanced and designed so that all classes can solo effectively from 1-70. However, there is solo and then there is solo...

So, the title of "best" would all depend on what you found to be most important.

Personally, I've found both the druids, (warden & fury), to be among the best at soloing but my criteria include ease of travel and survivability. If you're looking for speed of kill, the druids aren't it!

I have experience with the necromancer in this game and I can say with confidence that the necromancer and his pet make a deadly combo. If you can keep your pet alive you will be fine. If you sense you aren't going to make it just hit the bloody ritual spell (if you above level 16ish I'm not sure when you get this spell) to gain power from your pet and hit the sprint button until you lose aggro. I haven't died in a very long time using this system which is better to be used outdoors where you can sprint in one direction to lose aggro.

Try out the necro. If worst comes to worst you decide to go goody...

Try monk. A monk does decent enough damage, has invis (which helps in a lot of quests) and the very important feign death ability! (trying out a bruiser right now actually, very good damage, especially compared to a monk, but no tsunami and no invis, a pity)

But imo, if you truly want to solo, do a lot of quests. That imo would be the best way to solo no matter what the character is.
