free trial question :: Free Realms

I DLed the 7 day trial and I would like to play EQ2 to see if I want to keep playing it, but I can't seem to go anywhere. I get to a menu that says I have no characters [duh] and it seems like its DLing a lot of updates. atm 13:30:29 worth of updates... So do I have to wait for the updates to finish, or do I have to actually buy EQ2, then do the free trial.

Asumeing you are in the the launcher(a non full screen window with adds on it) You will have to wait for all updates to download and install and then a red play button will show up.

I downloaded the game and it took a hell of a long time to intall and update.

When ever the Launchpad seems to be downloading at a crawl close it out and restart the patcher. I've noticed on many occasions that long estimated download times end up being cut more than half when I restart the patcher.

Downloading the full game ought to take ages anyway. Excluding my screenshots folder, my EQ2 directory is showing up as 7.4 gigs. :p
