Good morning, AllaK's - 1/18/07Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

Fired up Vanguard last night to check it out. It definately has potential, though I'm not too enamored with some of the character models nor the combat system. The diplomacy system is great fun though. I think I need to spend a little more time in combat to get the hang of it. We'll see.

Watched some wanna-be's cry on American Idol. Laugh all you want, but that show is comedy gold up until they get to the actual competition part (at which point I generally stop watching).

How was your evening?

Loaded up my character for the first time in nearly a year and found myself in Antonica. My Zombie L&L quest was waiting to be finished, so I complied. I then spent the next hour and a half trying to figure out the /who command. I finally decided it was smarter than me, so I gave up. That's about it.

QFT. I especially enjoy the people who refuse to believe that they suck even though they sound like a cat banging around in a dryer. And crying makes me laugh more than anything.

Logged on and retried the bugged quest from yesterday...and it worked first shot..woot! Dinged the AA. Proceeded to do another slew of loping quests and came withing striking distance of the next even.

Headed over to tank a raid alliance LoA raid. Only had 4 shots or so at Vilucidae, wiped 10% on the last one...bleh. The mmob was still getting stuck in more than 1 stance for the final 25% though. Each pull went better than the last but it was getting too late at that point and people had to go. Was a fun, intense run though. I won some excellent FFA Fabled brawler boots off Gnorbl or Gnillaw (can't remember right now). Will have a very happy guild brawler shortly I think :)

Nice night overall.

Agreed, it has potential, though I would advise not getting it until atleast 3 months after it comes out. I can see a lot of post beta work being done.

Also agreed, the only time I watch it is to laugh at the people that sing as well as I do.

Well Burning Crusade set the WoW servers on fire last night, so that was a no go.

Logged into EQ2 and ended up chatting the night away without doing anything productive. ;)

Got invited to join a regular 3 days a week raiding group that took out Tarinax last night. Turned them down because I can’t raid three days a week. I’ll start hating the game after the first week if I raid that much.

That is exactly why I embraced WoW for a couple months almost exclusively… too much raiding in EQ2. I just can’t do it.

completed In Honor and Service and Lightstone HQs on my fury, then went into FG, realizing too late that the group sucked. dinged a level, but decided (after 1 too many *****-ups) to just ditch the group. little later, main got in a group going after the Champion of Drednever title. not a bad series of quests. got a couple extra names down in Sol Eye. dinged a couple AAs down there. that group really kicked butt. couple members had the curse of the LD hit them a few times, but overall, it was really fun.

so I'm not gonna complain too much about the crappy night, despite the pitiful start.

I fired up Vanguard at around 9:00 last night and all the servers were down, continuing as such for another two hours. I have horrible ping and lag playing that game. (Actually it's close to unplayable, I refuse groups so I won't get them killed with my lag.) I updated Direct X and my nVidia drivers and wanted to see if that helped. The crafting is awesome, especially if some of the coolest stuff in game is player made only, as promised by the devs.

So I logged into EQ for the first time in days and updated my broker stuff, and played a bit with my little fae.

Good morning, Stugein!

I've been enviously watching over the shoulders of my friends/roommates the past months while they've been happily frolicking in the beta. I'm pre-ordering today and upgrading my station pass so I can take advantage of that 3 day sneak peek prior to going Gold!! Woot!

Slowed my playing WAY down lately...got my baby girl coming in April so I fighting the urge to join Chimp's guild to raid more. Playing maybe 2 nights a week max. Been mostly working on AA's with my 57 Zerker and 59 Dirge. Finished all the quests in SS, now working on the ones in PoF and Lesser Fay. Hope to at least max out the KoS AA's before April. I'm having fun with 2 boxing as well...macros are my friend.

I was able to log into VG last night with my new drivers in place and for the first time ever the game ran like a top for me. Being able to play smoothly has finally hooked me on VG.

I think EQ2 looks better in the details and especially the character models, but the VG world is so huge, and since you can see forever, and go anywhere you can see it feels huge, more real and more immersive.

Standing on a high cliff over the ocean and seeing land off in the distance that would take a good 15 minutes to run to has to be experienced to understand the vast feel of this game world.
