Good morning, AllaK's - 1/12/07Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

Didn't manage to get logged in last night. There was a fundraiser for my kid's elementary school that I was kind of obligated to attend.

Discovered that there is a Long John Silver's near my office. I haven't eaten there in years and I had no idea it was there. I love that freakin' place. Totally going there for lunch today.

Pondered my plan to make a new character strictly for cooking. I have to axe one of my current utility toons for it and I haven't decided which. I also need to decide on a good race/class combo for it. Hmm. A dwarf maybe. An eeeevil dwarf. Man I wish shared bank worked cross-city, then I wouldn't have to betray it. Ah well.

How was your evening?

Not too bad.

Mostly I wrestled with the Vanguard patcher, finally got that done, realized I needed DX9c, got that, kicked it a few times, and managed to log in just as the beta servers came down.

Sooo… logged into EQ2, grouped with my Fury on my other account, and cleaned out most of the quests in Steamfont for quick AAXP. Got AAs 70 and 71, and finished off my Slaughter tree for my 10% double attack.

Listened to some guildies encounter some weird bug in the zone over top of Crushbone. They had to kill the midboss three times because she kept coming back to life, and every time she’d have twice as many floating sword adds. Madness!

I read that the devs will be moving the armor set chest item drop out of Mistmoor and into Unrest when it goes live, so that’s cool. Now if they would put the leg drop on something other than an x2 **** deep in a stupidly hard zone. Legendary from a raid mob you need Fabled to take out? Bull****…

did pretty good yesterday. did JBoots run on my monk. then did SBD on my bruiser. followed up with a Courts raid. guild dinged 14, and about 27% towards 15. needless to say, I'm rather happy. just need to do more raids, more HQs, and more people for the above. otherwise, doing pretty good.

Managed to get my Zerker alt a bunch of levels and even more AA.

It is my day off and freezing cold out so right now I am in RE farming mobs with a group.

Made a guild site for my guild at guild portal a few days ago. Wow is it hard to get people from the guild to visit the site.

The reason I did it is because we have a lot of people from Europe, Australia and the U.S. kinda wanted a place to post who was doing what and when.

Did the these boots are made for walking HQ on my main. Just waiting for the time limit to expire to get the boots back. Will probaly to it again on an alt tonight or Sat morning.

Ahhh the eternal problem of getting people to spend five minutes a day looking at a forum.

Insane how hard it is right? I mean, they’ll spend 6 hours a day in game, but they can’t hit a URL for five minutes once a week, let alone once a day.

I really have no idea what causes this sort of mentality, but I see it in every in game organization I’ve ever been a part of, including alliances and the like. The majority of people, the rather *large* majority, just don’t go to forums.

Long ago, a long gone member of my guild once told me it was because he didn’t like to read. Good choice of a game then since so much of it is in text :P

Anyway, I recommend you set up an event calendar and then only take people on the events who bothered to go to the site and sign up. It won’t take long for people to realize if they don’t go to the site every few days, they will miss out on everything the guild does.
