heya all

I am going to buy EQ2 this week .... and befor start to play , I still have some question about race and class creation , I read on a post that u cant be evil race with a good class , eccept if u do the betray quest . Personnaly I would like to make a Dark elf Templar. so my question is about this betray quest , Hard quest ? high lvl needed ? and where I can find info about this quest ... and is this new race fairy can fly or have perma levitation ? or normaly walk like all other race and have wings only for show off hehe.

thanks for all info =)

Make sure to buy Echoes of faydwer as it has all expansions and it is only 40 bucks.

You start the betrayal quest about level 20 give or take a few. Not sure how hard it is as i never have done it. Think you have to start an Dark Elf Inquistor which becomes a Templar after you betray.

They fly/levitate as the never touch the ground but they are only a few feet off of it.

Quest isn't hard just takes a lot of time and patience.

As a lvl 60 I plowed through it in about 5-6 hours played time. This was helped by groupage and also doing faction quests I knew were easy. Also the fact that I could waltz into the opposing city and I guards would not attack me.

Lower level might take longer

/shudder

I did the old betrayal quest and hated it (before they increased the named spawn rates). I found it long and annoying, and vowed never to do it again.

The quest was changed not that long ago, and I heard it was worse...but that's just heresay since I havne't tried it (and never will lol). I have read lots of posts about people really enjoying it though, so to each his own...and if you really want that Dark Elf Templar....it's the only way to do so. You can do it at any level..but you're upgraded spells revert to starting status, so keep that in mind if you choose to do it later on.

If i remember right the quest starter is from an NPC in the inn/bar thingy near the broker in West FP, behind the Arena.

Negative! the new betrayal quest is easy as pie compared tothe old one even. I have done it on 3 different toons, 2 of them just to do them! I did one from Freeport to Q and one from Q to Freeport.

I did em in the span of a couple of evenings playing, lowest guy to betray was level 35.

Anyone know if it is possible to betray to Freeport and then back to Qeynos?

I'ld like to have become part of all three cities, but can't move to Kelethin as betrayal doesn't quite work there as yet to Freeport or back to Qeynos. So I'ld have to betray to Freeport first, but can't go from Freeport to Kelethin I believe?

Yes, you can betray back and forth from Qeynos to Freeport and back again as many times as you like.

Thanks! As soon as I can find a solution to move my entire appartment content to Maj'Dul, I'll start the quests.

I heard that the appartment in Maj'Dul is not lost when betraying, but I can't buy it when having the appartment in Qeynos. Which is quite annoying.

Zie just remember to factor in the cost of buying completely new adepts for every single one of your spells, especially with the inflation going on right now.

Cost me a couple plat at lvl 63 to switch.

I know, luckily I haven't bought many master spells as yet (mostly because I can't afford them or just because I can't find them) apart from my heal actually.

There were few spells that costed me more than 10 gp for the adept version. And then I'll know what to grind money for. If push comes to shove, my spirit steed will get me 7 pp if I sell it, I still have my carpet.

I think I'll try it out Sunday, it'll keep me occupied for quite a bit.

Prices for Freeport spells and ca's are usually more expensive.

Plus that part where you have to get the dog to become your friend is perhaps the most frustrating quest in any MMO ever.

Dont do it!

Also remember that with EoF, they changed items such as the Mistrunners and Nightmares to check your citizenship before you can use them. If you have a Nightmare, for example, but are not a citizen of Freeport, it won’t work anymore. At least according to the item description.

To the OP, I would say stick with Inquisitor. They're one of the under played classes, they're very good to have around, and because there are so few of them, your spells generally cost a lot less on the broker.

The Echoes of Faydwer retail comes with Desert of Flames and Kingdom of Sky. The smaller, cheaper expansions ("Adventure Packs") are unneccessary and can be downloaded at will for a few bucks if and when you decide you want to explore them. Just buy Echoes of Faydwer as it will catch you up with all of the core expansions.

As for the Adventure Packs, if you wanted to sign up for All Access so you can play EQ1, EQ2, Vanguard, SWG… what else is on it? Matrix? Anyway, pretty much every game SOE makes at one monthly fee, then you get all the EQ2 Adventure Packs for free too so long as you maintain the Access subscription.

It also gives you four more character slots.

one little correction also, the betrayal can start as early as level 10 (I know b/c I've done it that low twice). the quests (and related mobs) scale to your level (when you get the quest). but like was mentioned earlier, it is an easy process, just time consuming. need to go from -50,000 faction with the city you want to go to, up to +10,000 faction. that's the time intensive part. other than that, it's not that bad.

Yes, and Planetside. There are also some little gamelets anyone can download and play for free. I never tried any of them.

I'd reccomend you try out all the different races/classes before commiting to one and going through the betrayal process.
