In Freeport, there is supposively and beginner's area called "Outpost of the Overlord" but it's not in Allakhazam's zone info or in eq2interface map section either so I've come to think that it's inside a Freeport zone or something. If someone could just post some info on where it's at I'd be gracious. Thanks.

oh wow, i'm going to have to check my eyes. Well, now I know it's a zone. Thanks for the quick post! I got one more question but if I wanted to see a map of the zone do you know where I could go to find one? I like eqinterface maps because they seem very detailed but I couldn't seem to find a map of "Outpost of the Overlord". The only thing is I can't trust my eyesight and I'm horrible and finding things in a website. Again, thanks for the info.

Here is a map of the zone from Gamepressure. The geography is the same, however most of th epoints of interest listed on that map have changed since the reworking of the zone into Evil (Outpost) and Good (Queen's Colony) versions.

Ah, I appreciate the help. Even if they changed the map with a good and evil side at least I have a good idea of the geography ( as long as it didn't completely change. Again, thanks for the help. I truly appreciate it.

Here's the deal with the newbie island...

When the game first came out, there was one single starting island for both good and evil. Along about the time they added PvP, they split the islands off into two - good and evil. (Wow, I wonder if that's why they did it!)

The good island is called "Queen's Colony" and the evil island is called "Outpost of the Overlord". The layout of each island is the same, (they are just different instances of the same zone). Only the mobs, NPCs and quests are different... oh, wait... thats almost everything!!!

In any event, if you've seen a map of any of the three islands, you've seen them all!

Regarding the maps from EQ2map, they are the very best in ingame mapping. Most folks couldn't play without them. I know I couldn't! As far as out of game maps go, I agree with Stugein that Game Pressure (EQ2 Atlas) has the best hard copy maps around. Now, if only they were printable! If you want something you can keep for reference, The Prima EQ2 Atlas isn't bad for under 15 bucks.
