Pet Commands?Follow

I've been having a problem for about a week or so now with my diety pet. When I summon it, the pet window doesn't pop up, and when I use the command to bring up the pet window, it says no pet. The buttons on the window I can't get to work with the pet, and I can't seem to figure out the actual typed commands to get your pet to do what you want.
I'm used to being able to park my pet at zone in so me and my group/raid members are not tripping over it/them everytime we turn around. I don't think this was an "across the board" change, as I've seen the occasional other diety pet parked, but alot of others I run with are having this problem and many of us have resorted to just not summoning the pets.
Being a fury, I dont have a regular pet to summon and attack so I can't test my character that way. So I was hoping someone could either tell me of a fix for this (preferably), or atleast let me know a few commands so I can control my wayward pet. Thanks much :)

The diety pet isn't a true pet in the sense you are thinking. They are more like simple companions or familiars. They just follow you around and boost your stats. You cannot command them to attack or guard or stay or anything of that nature like you can with a true pet. He cannot be controlled. He is a decoration that boosts your stats while you have it active.

yes I know it doesn't work like a regular pet, no matter now many times i yell at it for help, LOL.

but it used to be that i could zone into an instance or such, summon the pet at zoneline, and leave it parked. this way i could benefit from the increased stats, without the headache of having a pet clutter up the area, or having to resummon the thing everytime i get nailed with an aoe. poor lil guy is rather fragile. but with my pet window not operating with it anymore, now i cant park it, and the last raid my guild had was rather annoying with an extra 24 diety pets underfoot, lol.

You were never supposed to be able to park it. It was supposed to be uncontrollable. They recently removed it's pet status and changed it to companion so that it no longer brings up the pet window. You aren't doing anything wrong. You can't make your pet stay anymore.

Can he at least set his options so that he can't see the companions? Kinda like you can turn off cloaks and illusions.

There is probably enough laggy as it is in a raid without 500 little guys gumming up the works even more; especially considering they aren't being all that useful.

thankyou Stugein :)
/mourn. i guess i should have taken that screen shot of the mass of diety pets stacked in labs or courts when i had the chance /cry.

good idea inja. it would defenitely be helpful if there were an option to make the pets invisible to cut down on lag. i can get over having to resummon them. but i dont think we're going to see one. sounds like a hefty game mechanic there. guess now pets will likely have to go bye bye on most raids, and i'll just have to deal with it in the instance zones.

thanks for the info.

I saw something, somewhere (sorry, cannot remember where) that said that in a very soon update they are going to add a flag that will allow you to show or hide companions (/hide_companions?)
