well, got Rescue of the Green Hoods up to the point where I go into DFC on my necro. hell, even got all the way to where I need to kill Fyst. Got all the way up to Fyst and then...nothing. we clear the ring event to get Fyst into the arena, and he just stands there. after waiting about 30 min after I submitted a /petition, everyone (including myself) that this run was a bust. all of us were pissed, needless to say b/c we now have to wait 3 days to go back in JUST TO KILL FYST!! so angry.

anyway, after that, I teamed up with one of the new guildies I welcomed the other day and we knocked out In Honor and Service. happy about that much at least.

So how was your day yesterday?

Yesterday was my first day back on EQII since the holiday break so I spent a lot of time visiting my three toons to pay rent, visit broker, etc... After this was completed I decided to clear some old quests that were about to turn gray on my Monk. So I spent three hours running around Antonica collecting, killing, to complete 6 quests. The best/longest part was when I had to kill 12 Caltorsis Cleric. To pass the time I harested the nodes in the area and hit 36 rares. Okay 19 of them were glowing stones or flowers but I can use them to create items for my guild's newer toons. All in all glad to be back!!!!

Qwaaaaaaaash! *shakes phist*

That stinks about Fyst. That zone has always been a pain in the rear and the triggers to bring down Fyst from the balcony have always been kind of flakey.

Got a bunch done since I had the day off of work. Scored upgrades to one of my ear slots and my chest slot on my main during a run through Crypt of Valdoon. Very slick legendary items, both of which I need to send in to the admins when I get home this evening.

The invisible skeletons surprised the hell out of me. This was my first trip to the zone and I cleared the opening hallway then turned around and went back to kill Elenorel the Beast Tamer. After smashing him and returning to the main hall, I just charged down the hallway think that it would still be clear. Then the casters started dying and screaming and I turn around to see a group of L71 ^^^'s just tearing everyone up. After that wipe I moved a tad more slowly through the zone. ;)

A pal scored me my AE disease dot (Unending Misery) which I think was my last spell I had at lower than A3. So all A3 or master now. Good times.

Through all the play time on my main I cranked out 3 more AA. I'm still torn on the SK/EoF line. I want the effect at the bottom of the hate line, but the spell leading down the reaving line are just so much more useful. I guess I could segue into the hate line part way down from reaving...maybe Chimp has some suggestions.

Raised my tinkering to 100/350. Spiders on a string RULE. Harvested T3 for awhile to get some supplies to continue tinkering. Ended the trip in nek forest with 4 palladiums and 6 steel clusters, yet only enough loams for a dozen of so combine attempts. o_0

Cleaned out some treasured stuff I had and handed them over to a transmutin' buddy. I'm up to 5/12 bars for the Crested Mistmoore Shield HQ now. I can't wait until that's overwith.

Logged in my baby bruiser to tool around with lowbie quests in GFay. Nothing special here, other than a random crusbone centurion being a pal and dropping a master chest for me.

Bang pow!

Hi all,

I had a fun night. Logged on did a fast Obelisk run with my SK. Was a great group and we tore through it in about 30 mins. I then did my first Freethinkers raid. Only had a few tidbits from various sources about what to expect, so it was pretty interesting. Figured out the entrance/throw the bone mobs after a few tests and a bitta discussion...then did our first try at Zylphax the Shredder. Took a few tries (and wipes) to get a decent system going...and got him down to 41%..then 30% on our last 2 tries. By the end we were jousting well, but still have a bit of testing to do regarding his port/fear etc.. We called it after most of us hit 10% gear, but it was a great initial foray, I'm pretty confident we can drop him next time. Was a learning run more than anything, so 1 step at a time. It took a few attemps just getting people used to jousting that fast (4 seconds to joust out).

Stu...reaver is a great line and a lot of SKs are going with it. I wanted my SK to concentrate on survivability and where I think he would have problems (Spike dammage). In the cusader line he is full STA with DA final...maxed in the STA stat and health % etc. The rest (which could be better allocated possibly in the INT spell crits)...is in full WIS stats and full AGI stats...very marginal gains in avoidance and resists....but more "up-front" dammage reduction than proc/crit heals "regain health after loss".

Since I'm very heavy in STA..and also STA/AGI/WIS gear...my DPS is low for an SK, so to help aggro management I'm all the way down the Hate line & with the Syphon. Maxed in Caress..(with master 1 it's giving ~116 hate every hit if I remmber right, maxed Sheild bash and Deathmarch timer reduction). Very nice line. To further aggro and survivability I'm sraight down the decay line (nice aggro boost from the disease debuff points...maxed, and reduced timer FD)....and am full up on the mititagtion sypher as well.

I also went with Brell for the mitigation buffs (+10% blessing +resists 10 mins...and the +3500 mitigation for 15 secs).

This works very well for me, I compare with the other raiding SKs on our server fairly often. Until a couple weeks ago my HP was the second highest on the server for SKs (but my mitigation was a couple hundred above). We recently had a transfer to the server of another higher HP SK though, but I'm not sure what he's specc'd for at the sec. I know in offensive gear my HP go up a nice amount as well.

Raid buffed I'm usually around 13.5 or 14Kish with a couple temp buffs (though I can boost it by another 600ish for a touger fight). Mitigation is around 5700 buffed currently (with a few easy upgrades/adorns still to add...soon I hope, which should add about 300ish). I'm aiming to get back to 6K+, post EoF gave me a big hit), and avoid is around 56%-57% at the sec usually.

With a multi-mob encounter like Gnillaw or Gnorbl...slap on the blessing +10% mit...get an Urchin +1200 mit...cast despoil ~+2000 mit (some resist)..cast the Miracle +3500 mit..get a Mystic buff + sacrilige then deathmarch...and you end up sitting at around 12000+ mitigation and 15000 to 16000HP for 15 secs off the pull, then drop to around 9300 for another 10 to 15 secs...with despoil still up for another 30ish afterwards (1 min 12 sec duration) and the blessing still up for the entire fight. With Divine Aura on soaking up the smaller hits simultaneously...you are a real Juggernaut (and Deathmarch proccing like mad on those encounters).

Anyway, I'll shut up now...:)

Damn Chimp. Good info.

In the crusader tree I found going down the INT line [i]just[/]i enough to max out the spell crits was worth it. Didn't go a point further in INT than that. It increases my survivability more than the STA simply because for us it also creates crit heals. Every hit of every reactive ward, every lifetap, every tick of the DoT, every individual damage spike of the Tap Vein, everything has a huge chance to crit and crit heal. It also works nicely with the leech-touch ability from the SK/EoF line. Crit leech-touch wins forever.

The rest of my Sky AA's went to STA. All the way down to Divine Aura. Great great ability. In the SK/EoF tree I mainly went down the Reaving line for Leech Touch and to lower the reuse of our lifetaps. Now I'm wondering if I should shift focus to hate as the ending ability of the hate line is just so superior than the other two.

Reaver is more effective with higher HP as well apparently...haven't looked at enough yet since I jumped Gung-ho for the Hate Syphon first.
