Since I'd rather not buy a new pc, does anyone have any suggestions on some settings I can turn down so that I don't lag like a dirty *****? I believe i turned down pretty much every setting (by almost half in most cases), but it didn't seem to help much. I hardly lag on FFXI, but I'd really like to try this game out.
Someone linked me to a guide a long time ago that was exactly what you are looking for...unfortunately I can't think of it.
My biggest suggestion is to drop Complex Shader Distance as low as it goes, that is the biggest system hog if I recall correctly.
Also using lower texture and model packages will greatly speed everything up, but then again that makes the game look horrid.
