Was doing Crypt of Valdoon last night and we were at Irodal the Originator (whom I really should have grabbed screenshots/info for the DB) and our 70 SK tank was creamed in 3 hits. Our 70 Bruiser then went down like nothing.

The lvl 72 Heroic then decided that I was next in line for death. Being a former ranger I was prepared to be one shotted. What followed was perhaps the oddest fight I have been in for a long time.

My Assassin sporting a mix of fabled and legendary gear in offensive stance managed to tank + kite Irodal for about 90 seconds straight. Long enough for our healer to get over the shock of what was happening and raise both our SK and Bruiser. The SK then took aggro off me (I was at 38% health) and died 5 seconds later. Irodal went straight back to me and I managed to easily tank him and his pet.

How an Assassin with only a Fury healing him and a Wizard doing dps (with SK and Bruiser dead for pretty much entire fight) managed to get through that fight is beyond me. However the wizzie got a legendary piece she could use and got to heckle the Shadowknight. So I guess I should stop ******** about the borked up combat mechanics!

As a 70 SK, that story makes me feel all warm & fuzzy. o_0 I haven't tried doing any of the instances in EoF yet, let alone tanking them. I couldn't imagine getting 3-rounded though. That's awful.

How was the gear of the others compared to yours, especially the two tanks? I know you should be basically in top gear right now. If they were all in legendary that could have made a difference

Yeah the guys were in Legendary/Mastercrafted.

Still harsh they were slapped down that hard, also sad that raid gear gave me the edge that made an assassin a better tank than a crusader.

Oh yeah, they sure fixed up itemization right.

I predict yet another revamp :P

Well, maybe this time crafted gear gets better!

OK, I guess I shouldn't be saying this based on one piece of anecdotal evidence :)

Seriously, a Templar would have made a big difference here. Furies add very little to a group in terms of defense.
